I figure they can do something in the form of outlawing pitchers and making it available in pint sizes only or something to that effect. My dark beer addiction is suffering - lol Bottles are great but lack the depth that you can obtain from draft -Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15458742.post-69700184101613870862012-11-29T09:21:02.705-07:002012-11-29T09:21:02.705-07:00I see two sides to this coin. A new pub type place would be worth checking out for the food as well.

The other side of the coin, is it just puts more "precedent" behind 4.0 ABV draft beers. It looks Deschutes is coming in and going to work up a few specific recipes for Utah markets. If they do that, they will be less likely to support a movement or removal of the draft ABV limit. Frankly, I wonder if the local breweries would be behind a serious effort to try to get the draft limit lifted?

BTW, why don't we have Chainbreaker here yet? I really want to try that one.

Cheers,
ScottKAGent777https://www.blogger.com/profile/03183225373382127266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15458742.post-12460146048443592412012-11-27T13:16:53.880-07:002012-11-27T13:16:53.880-07:00this would be a slap in the face to anyone who wan...this would be a slap in the face to anyone who wants the 3.2 draft laws abolished. All this would do is send a message to the churchislature that its ok for the government to enforce the strength of beers that people drink, that new business will come here despite how absurdly difficult they make it to own and operate a brewery in utah. if deschutes has any respect for the local brewing community theyll open a pub and REFUSE to make 3.2 beerAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15458742.post-65928828144647609522012-11-27T10:53:17.246-07:002012-11-27T10:53:17.246-07:00This will happen before Cache Valley Brewing! If this pans out, I will be super stoked. Love their beer.

Makes sense to brew some session beers for Utah. After years of being laughed at for our weak beer, the market is heading towards hoppy session ales. I'm not complaining, but they'll have to be pretty damn good to compete with Trader.
