In the Radio Pub we have a "scary mystery beer show", with our pals, Jeremy and Chris from the New Utah Podcast. Will we scare Steph with more pumpkin beers, or maybe milkshake IPAs? The madness awaits Friday at 2pm on 99.9fm KUAA. - KUAAfm.org/

Returning Favorites

Bewilder - Imperial Mole Porter: Aged in Tequila barrels and brewed with cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon - chipotle, mulato and pasilla negro peppers. Aroma of mostly cinnamon and cocoa. Flavors follow with a nice spicy mix of cinnamon vanilla and chilies. Not heat to speak of and there’s a hint of earthy tequila and oak in the finish.

Bewilder - Mole Porter: This version has an English Porter base with Cacao, cinnamon, and chipotle peppers.

2 Row Smoked Habanero Porter: The aroma has a faint hint of chilies and roasted malt. In the mouth you get a nice dose of cocoa and dark roast coffee. The habanero heat is pretty subtle and is mostly limited to a scratchiness on the back of the throat, with little fire. A solid chile beer. 7.5% Available at 2 Row

Hopkins - Chili Mangose: This gose-style ale is soured naturally with lactobacillus. Look for flavors of sea salt, coriander, and chili powder, along with mango puree and roasted jalapeƱo.  The peppers provide a smoky, spicy aroma and a delicate spice on the palate. Mango gives the impression of sweetness and the tartness melds beautifully with the salt.

Here are this week's Small Batch Beers from Hopkins Brewing.

Cheers!

Eight Settlers, one Steph, one Mikey and one Jakub Labedz will be crammed in the Radio Pub this Friday at 2pm. I'm now being told no "settlers" will be attending.

Offset - Eggers Special: Named for a small family run hop farm in the Upper Moutere area of New Zealand. This pale ale features a rare variant of Riwaka that was hand selected from over 20,000 specimens. Eggers describes it as "Next Level Riwaka".  range of citrus from lime zest to grapefruit and sweet orange as well as some over ripe tropical fruit and a really unique herbal character

Ogden Beer - Munich Dunkel: This new lager is really nice. Great toasted grains wrapped in a tasty malt blanket. The malt isn't too rich, and the layering gives it a nice overall mellow profile. Nobel hops with a good dose of herbal grass rounds it out. This lager is perfect with this crisp air. 5.0% - Only at Ogden Beer Co.

UTOG/Home Range - Good Gourde: This new beer from UTOG and Home Range Brewing. This new beer features a full pumpkin mash along with the prerequisite spices. Nice nutmeg aroma. Whoa, malty, toasty and spiced. There’s a ton of body with some balancing vanilla complementing the spices. Not a watery spice beer and yes, a pumpkin beer can also be very nice. 5.0% - on draft only at UTOG and Home Range.

New Beer Friday 10/17/25

Yeah, it's the big rivalry Saturday and you're gunna need some fresh new beers to tailgate, pub watch or chill at home. Nothing in this New Beer Friday will keep you down, though the game might.

Saltire's new head brewer Don Moore is in the radio pub we'll get into Don's history along with some of his newest creations with Saltfire. we begin at 2pm every damn Friday at 99.9fm KUAA or at KUAAfm.org/

Level Crossing - Unknown Legend: There’s something about a Czech lager that speaks volumes over others the pils family. That hop profile, here it’s classic with a hint of Hallertau Blanc and X-14. These give it that fruity/fuller body that lovers of CZs expect. Love this style and lager. 6.2% - Available starting today at Level Crossing.

Chappell - D-Bag Series (Ozzy): The second beer in Chappell's barrel-aged series of beers features their War Pig Black Ale that has been aging in bourbon barrels from Fray Ranch Distillery for over a year. Very subtle flavors. A good dose of roasty malt & piney hops too. The barrel is a whole other thing. Excellent bourbon & oak sweetness counters the above mentioned flavors to create an American BA session stout that gives a sessionable BA ale depth. 7.0% - Only at Chappell.

Offset - DAMP 25.04: Offset's final fresh hop beer features 20lb/bbl of wet Gooding Mosaic and wet Jackson Krush with some added Cashmere and Citra. Oh my, the 25.04 really sings to me compared to 25.03. The flavors are so much more broad. I loved the .03 full body; but oh my F’n G! This is at a whole new level. Chewy, citrus zest, hop resin, flowery, tropical and berry notes. This is f’n witchcraft in beer form. 8.0% - Available at Offset, found at the Bayou.

RoHa - Recession Proof: This Hazy Pale Ale Nice has a nice combo of toasty malt and citrus. Reminds me of a nice mid 2000s pale with a great hop profile. The mouthfeel is all 2025 though. A nice combo of the two Generational flavors. Yup it’s Recession Proof! 5.0% - Available at RoHa.

Grid City - Drunken Kitchen Rice Lager: A massive amount of pils malt and jasmine rice with a salad of Huel Melon and Saaz hops. Big lemon zest nose, with toasty grains. There’s a crazy body here that’s light but “fortified”. The rice/hop bill is magic here. A unique, softly sweet, but dry finish wraps it up. 5.0% - Available now at Grid City.

Uinta - Tropical Staycation: This ale was made with a theorized yeast, which adds a huge amount of fruitiness to beer. Whoa! Those thiols are really pop’n in the nose. Can smell this at arm length. Full of pineapple, bitter orange peel and strawberry. Drinks very well. The hops add a punch of stone-fruit and the finish is lingering and dry. I’ve missed bitter pales. 5.0% - Available now at Uinta.

Proper - Wet Hopped Gungan Sith Lord: This wet hopped Dark Czech lager Debuts today. 5.0% at Proper on Main Street.

Proper - Vier Lager: A wet hopped German pale lager. Debuts today. 5.0% at Proper on Main Street.

Cheers!
