The best thing about New Beer Black Friday is that you don’t have to get your ass up early and wait in line for it! Well, maybe if you want some of 2 Row’s BA Dark Alley tomorrow you will. 

It looks like Goose Island Bourbon County and Bourbon County Coffee hit DABC store shelves today. Very limited supply.

Talisman's Chocolate Stout with Orange Zest: Not tried this one yet. It's described as a chocolate stout with orange zest. - strong dark chocolate notes from a heavy dose of cocoa nibs complimented by citrus from the orange zest. Delicious and creamy. 4.0% ABV.  Available exclusively at the Cinnebar Snowbasin Resort and also available for growler fills at Talisman's beer store.

2 Row 's Barrel Aged Dark Alley: This newest incarnation of Utah's beastliest beer (15% + ABV) goes on sale to the public tomorrow morning (Saturday 11/25/17). However some bar have already picked some up and have them for sale right now, so if twenty-four hours is too long to wait? you have that option today.This version of 2 Row's Imperial Barrel Aged Stout is aged in Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels. You should probably get in line now, it will sell out fast.

The A. Fisher Brewing Co. "Re-opens" This Weekend

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last year, we here in Utah's craft beer community have been waiting patiently for the resurrection of one of Utah's most iconic breweries from the 19th and 20th Centuries, the A. Fisher Brewing Co. Originally founded in 1886 by German immigrant Albert Fisher, the Fisher Brewing Co. operated in SLC for 76 years - 80 if you count the years it operated as Lucky Lager Brewing. This gives Fisher the honor of being Utah's longest lived brewery ever. Even more impressive it managed to survive the prohibition dark ages from 1920 - 1933.

This Saturday begins a new chapter in Fisher's life as the brewery returns after a 57 year drought. Look for a wider array of beers than was previously available from the old brewery, including Fisher's iconic Lager, which will always be on tap.

The beer begins to flow at 11am on Saturday with various food trucks arriving throughout the day to take care of your noshing needs. Fisher's new place is located at 320 w. 800 s. in Salt Lake City. If you're feeling nostalgic after your stay at the brewery on Saturday, I invite you to visit the old Fisher Mansion - the location of the original brewery (located at 1206 W. 200 S. in Salt Lake City, Utah) and "spill a little" in honor of this happy day.

Come Celebrate the Historic Fisher Brewery

In the early 1870s a man named Albert Fisher immigrated from Germany to the United States and eventually settled in Salt Lake City. Albert was a brewer by trade and he quick put his skill set to work shortly after arriving in Utah.

In 1884, Albert Fisher purchased 15 acres of land on 200 South on the east bank of the Jordan River (1206 West) where he established the A. Fisher Brewing Company.

The Fisher Brewing Company quickly became the largest brewery in Utah and in 1893 he constructed a grand residence adjacent to the brewery along the banks of the Jordan River.

Salt Lake City, which now owns the historic mansion will be hosting an open house May 15, 2010 from 5 – 9 p.m . The Fisher Family and Red Rock Brewing Company will host the Albert Fisher Beer Garden on the mansion grounds. This is a great opportunity to get to know this great piece of Utah's beer history while enjoying great German food and local craft beer on the beautiful riverside mansion property.

All proceeds go to Celebrate the City 2010 and to the Salt Lake City’s Historic Preservation Fund. The Fund supports restoration and preservation of the City’s historic buildings and places. Come Celebrate the City is an annual community event celebrates Salt Lake City’s grand historic buildings and the eras they were built.
