New Beer Friday 3/25/22

You're probably going to need to snag a loan from your bank to afford this week's New Beer Friday list. There's a lot of damn beer out there this weekend, thankfully it's pretty spread out. Enjoy this picture perfect weekend.

Hopkins - Victory; For Peace
This experimental dry-hopped farmhouse ale features a heavy bubble gum/banana presence, tailing with it is a moderate hop bitterness. With a malt forward body, but still maintaining a dry finish. Proceeds go towards Razom, an organization that helps supply critical materials such as medical supplies, food, and clothing to the people of Ukraine during emergencies. To learn more about this organization and how to donate, please visit https://razomforukraine.org/.

Wasatch - Top of Main Series (Raspberry Ale)The aroma has subtle raspberry and toast. Taste is of the same, with some background acidity and sweetness. Mouthfeel is light and finishes crisp and refreshing. 5.0% - Available at Wasatch Park City and West Side Tavern.

Strap Tank- Besser Bier Dunkel: This Munich Dunkel  has a nice nose; bready with hints of chocolate. Taste is really well done. Medium toasted bread malt base is infused nicely with a chocolate tinged malt addition. Finishes really well balanced with the help of the toasted malts. 5.0% - Available at Strap Tank also found at Slackwater.

Offset Bier - Experimental Pale: This very small batch pale features experimental hop HBC735 and has an intense Lemon, Spice and Pine profile.I haven't tried it, but Offset  says, "It's unlike any other hop we've ever used". 5.0% - Only at Offset Bier.

pFriem - Belgian-Style Blonde Ale Great fruit esters, very expressive, floral, honey and biscuit aromas. Taste is a more balanced than the nose. Malt backbone is light but solid, yeasty chewiness, delicate but not light. An excellent example of the style. 7.5% - Exclusive to Beer Bar, Cotton Bottom and The Eating Establishment.

pFriem - Super Saison: The name says it all. This saison on steroids has a strong medicinal/bubble gum notes in the aroma..follwed by over ripe banana, coriander and light lemon . Taste similar, but more fruity and yet creamy. Very nice, smooth yet well carbonated with a dry finish.. Slight boozy finish. 9.5% - Exclusive to Beer Bar, Cotton Bottom and The Eating Establishment.

pFriem - Lemon Zest Farmhouse Ale:  This was bottled in December and the aroma is still bright with lemon zest.  There's also clove, grassiness and some very light funk. Very flavorful and citrusy, with some very lightly tart lemon, juicy stone fruit, and citrus flavors. There's a mild Dupont-like saison funk here too – more clove and grass than citrusy barnyard funk. Grassy bitterness on the finish. 6.2% - Exclusive to Beer Bar, Cotton Bottom and The Eating Establishment.

pFriem - Citrus Zest IPA:  This has a nice citrus zest aroma, full of fresh orange and tangerine with a solid pine backdrop. As advertised: the flavor brings in some wonderful and smooth notes of melon and papaya. There is still plenty of sweet and tart tangerine as well. Very nice IPA. 6.3% - Exclusive to Beer Bar, Cotton Bottom and The Eating Establishment.

pFriem - Mosaic Pale AleHuge mango and lemon nose with pineapple, light guava, earthy and grassy hops with hints of lemongrass. pFriem - Mexicsn-Style Chocolate Stout: Missed this one. 8.5% - Exclusive to Beer Bar, Cotton Bottom and The Eating Establishment.

pFriem - Pale:  The aroma on this is really bright with notes of orange, mango, citrus and a nice piney aroma on the finish. The taste follows the nose with a profile that places the mosaic hops front and center on a bed of pilsner malts. The hops provide notes of orange, pine, dank herbal notes with a lingering bitterness into the finish. 6.3% - Exclusive to Beer Bar, Cotton Bottom and The Eating Establishment.

pFriem - Pilsner: A nice aroma of malt and slightly grassy hops. The taste is crisp, clean, a little lemon, herbal, the aforementioned sweet malt with a little hop bite. This is very balanced and refreshing. 4.9% - Exclusive to Beer Bar, Cotton Bottom and The Eating Establishment.
