New Beer Friday 11/7/24

Exasperated? Maybe Ecstatic? No matter your mood a lil' New Beer Friday goes a long way. Today's selection is stout heavy, so bring you big boy and girl pants.

Beer Nerd Radio welcomes Uinta's Grand Poobah, Noah Brown and Vice Poobah, Jeremy Worrell tot he Radio Pub. We'll get into Uinta's new direction with guest host Del Vance, in for the vacationing Steph B. It begins at 2pm today (Friday) on 99.9fm KUAA.

Desert Edge - Conspiracy: This new Imperial Stout has earthy and bitter hit up front, but nothing overwhelming. This becomes char, dark chocolate, and some coffee. Molasses and anise follow. The earthy notes return towards the end. The sip finishes bittersweet and this lingers into and through the aftertaste which is very much unsweetened chocolate. 9.6% - Available at Desert Edge.

Uinta - East Bench: Missed this new whiskey barrel-aged stout is part of Uinta's Barrel & Blend Series and was aged in barrels for six months. Look for a robustly rich profile with hints of vanilla and notes of dark forest cake. It features a seasonally appropriate 13.0% abv and mouthfeel that leaves nothing to the imagination. Available at Uinta starting today.

Ogden Beer - West Coast Is Best: This session WCIPA features a mixture of fruity, piney and green hop aromas. The taste is similar to the aroma. On the finish there's a medium amount of bitterness with an equal amount of hoppy and malt flavors in the aftertaste. 5.0% - Available at Ogden Beer.

Epic - Milk StoutA Milk Stout for those that hate “milk stouts”. This heavily roasted stout has a dose of milk sugars to keep this from becoming overly ashy. It’s still on the dry-side for a milk stout, but sweet stouts aren’t my thing. A dry Espresso finish tops it off. 5.0%

Salt Lake Brewing - Lambert’s Holiday Nut Brown AleToasty and bready - mostly bread crust. Medium to light caramel. Much more English-style than American (less hoppy). a somewhat nutty finish. 5.0% - Available at SL Brewing.

Here are this week's Small Batch Beers from Hopkins Brewing.

Cheers!
