New Beer Friday 11/29/19

I hope you all had an excellent Thanksgiving. Due to it being a holiday week, not much hit shelves and taps over the last few days. Here are a few things to help continue your (hopefully) extended weekend. Keep an eye on Utah Beer's social media for updates later this afternoon - and if you found something I missed please share! Happy New Beer Friday!  

Heber Valley - Bishop Brown: Missed this one. This is a Belgian style brown ale - said to be inspires by the famous Biscoff Cookies. 5.0% - available at Heber Valley Brewing. 

Goose Island - 2019 Bourbon County Stout: This year’s Bourbon County Stout, aged in a mix of Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace, and Wild Turkey barrels. This one goes on sale today at 11am; From what I understand, It has a very limited availability and you should be able to find it at the Avenues DABC, Harris Ave Wine Store, Cottonwood Heights and Murray DABC. Some of the better beer pubs are picking some up as well, so if you miss out, pubs like Dick n' Dixie's, Beer Bar, etc will be grabbing some as well. This one is a beast at 14.5% 

Brewery Ommegang - Dubbel Merlau: This Belgian style dubbel was fermented with Merlot grapes and aged in red wine barrels. Look for oak and tannic acidity with a burst of malty goodness leading  to blackberry, cherry and raspberry. The finish is long, with layers of drying tannins and malt sweetness. A must try. 8.7% - Found at the Bayou.

New Beer Friday 12/28/18

On a personal note, I'd like to say thanks to all of you that still bother to stop by the Utah Beer Blog for all of you local beer news; even though the content is not as free flowing as it once was, I hope 2019 will allow for more time to get you all of the exclusive beer news that you crave.

This was a record year for Utah's beer scene, we welcomed Toasted Barrel Brewery, SaltFire Brewing Co., Policy Kings Brewery, Cerveza Zólopez Beer Co., T.F. Brewing, Roosters' B Street Brewery and St. George's Silver Reef Brewing Co.; Sugar House's brand new Hopkins Brewing Co. is scheduled to open on Dec. 31. And if all goes as planned you can expect to see at least another 6 or 7 breweries in 2019. So please stay close and please have a safe 2019. Now On to New Beer Friday.

Even in a week where generally nothing happens, you can always rely on a few breweries to step up and get us some new beers. It's not a huge New Beer Friday, but it's enough to wrap up a pretty great year for beer,

2 Row English Brown: This has a beautiful ruby/brown color that is brilliantly clear, with a moderate to thin amount of foam on top. The aroma has plenty of malts with toffee, caramel and nutty bread. Not as nutty as you'd expect from some brown ales. The taste is full of toffee, toasted crackers and some dark fruits from the malt. A nice winter brew that is the perfect change of pace from a brewery that is known for it's hoppy beers. 5.5% - Available at 2 Row

Kiitos Pro/Am Winter Porter: The first of Kiitos’ Pro/Am Series. This 7% Porter is brewed with coconut, coffee and cocoa nibs and was brewed in collaboration with Salt Lake City homebrewer Andrew Frost. Frosted Morning Pow Porter won a gold medal at the 10th Annual Beehive Brewoff. The result is a chocolatey Porter that isn’t too sweet but has notes of coconut and vanilla to round it out. Coffee comes through more as it warms. Very drinkable with alcohol that is well hidden. Damn tasty. Found at Kiitos and Beer Bar.

Ommegang 20th Anniversary: I didn't have the stamina for a 11.1% beer; not to mention it comes in a 750ml bottle. Look for a beer that has dark fruits blended with wood, molasses and a little chocolate with definite bourbon notes. Found at Beer Bar. I'm also hearing it's at some DABC stores.

New Beer Friday 8/24/18

New Beer Friday is precious. One day to rule them all! 

2 Row Sour IPA:  Lemon, orange zest, and herbs in the aroma. The flavor starts with lemon, some grapefruit, and piney/herbal undertones. It's light and dry in the mouth with almost no bitterness, and balanced tartness. Finishes quick and dry 6.1%. Available at 2 Row and better beer pubs

Fisher IPA #3: This is Fisher's third high point limited IPA release. This version features Denali, Galaxy, Citra and Mosaic hops. The nose has good dose of citrus fruit, citrus zest, pineapple juice, and berry. The taste is much the same with candied citrus zest, tropical fruit, and grapefruit juice flavors in the end. the finish is bitter and lightly dry. A great west coast style IPA. 7.0%. This goes on sale tomorrow (8/25) at 10am. This probably won't last the day.  

Fisher Galaxy Kölsch: Aromas of bready malt and some fresh fruitiness - mostly grapefruit and melons. Starts off with some toasty malts and a bit of fresh fruitiness quickly giving way to the citrus peel hops. The finish is lingering and dry. The hops take this Kolsch and transform it into a session IPA. 4.0%. Available at Fisher.

 

Fisher Bright Lights Pale Ale: This pale ale goes a little old school with Cascade & Simcoe hops. The aroma is malty, with caramel and toasted bread, plus some piney hops. The taste is the same. Sweet malt honey-like flavors, some toasty bread, and some tangerine flavors. There is some grassy bitterness in the finish. 4.0%. Available at Fisher.

 

Fisher Glacial Pace IPL: A very pleasant tasting hoppy beer - a hint of citrus/fruity hops, but the  resinous/piney/grassy hops drive the show for the most part. Sticky, dry aftertaste. Very nice! 4.0%. Available at Fisher.

Lagunitas Passion Grass: Citrus, passion fruit, in the nose. The taste follows with the addition of lemongrass up front along with light grapefruit and passion fruit. The end a bit drying with heavy lemongrass. Finishes dry and puckering. 4.6%. I found it a Beerhive. 

Innes & Gunn Bourbon Barrel Scotch: The nose has mostly sweet malt and vanilla and bourbon. The taste follows with sweet burnt toffee, wood and light bourbon flavors. metallic notes come next providing that typical old world ale flavor. The finish is sweet with roasted notes. 6.6%. Found at Beerhive.

Ommegang Fruittanomyces: I missed out on this one. It's described as having tropical and orchard fruits along with citrus and a tart bretty base. 5.3% Available at the Bayou.

Rogue Dead 'n' Dead: It's that classic malty and toasted dead guys with the addition of oak and whiskey flavors. A very nice ale. 8.2%. Available at the Bayou.

 

Stone Idolatrous IPA: Just came across this one. it's described as being piney and bitter with resiny hops that dominate the palate along with notes of lemon, grassy notes. 7.0%. Available at the Bayou.

New Beer Friday 8/10/18

All of this week's offerings feature a bit of tart and funk. I hope you guys like tart and funk!

Shades Kveik #2: This beer pours a purplish red color topped with a little to no head. The aroma has a fragrant sour cherry smell. Taste was tart and pleasantly fruity. Some warm spice notes in the end. The finish is very dry. Another winner from Shades' Kveik Series. 6.3%. Available at Shades Brewing.

Avenues Proper Brett Pale Ale 2:  Look for funky, earthy and tropical-fruit-like flavors in this dry and subtly tart take on the American pale ale. This beer is only available at Avenues Proper. 4.0%.

Rogue Combat Wombat: This sour Northeast-style IPA is brewed with blood orange and grapefruit. The taste has an ample amount of musty yeast tart tropical fruits, orange and grapefruit pith. It finishes with a good dose of piney bitterness. 7.2%. Available at select DABC.

Brewery Ommegang Queen of the Seven Kingdoms: Ommegang's latest beer in their Game of Thrones series features a base beer full of Belgian yeast, lemon tartness, apple and melon. The sourness is pretty light, it much more prevalent in the nose than on the tongue. A pretty smooth ale. 6.7%. Available at select DABC.   

In other beer news: Roosters Brewing Company will begin to unveil their new look and branding this Saturday at the Ogden Farmers Market from 9-2pm. There will be give-aways every half hour, from stickers and merch to gift cards and a private brewery tour of Roosters new B Street Brewery that is set to open this fall. The new brewery will feature a dining and tap room space along with an additional 6,000 sf of available space for retail and manufacturing, as well as an outdoor amphitheater and dining area.

From what I've seen the new B Street Brewery will be a beautiful addition to Ogden's craft beer scene. Stay close for further updates.

New Beer Friday 5/11/18

Ummm... we have a lot of beers to deal with this week; the majority of these coming from new breweries entering the market. Both Double Mountain and Odell breweries hit the Wasatch Front this week - with them comes a great variety of tasty new suds. Buckle up for a lengthy read.

Kiitos Rye Pale Ale:  Nice spicy rye with a lot of orange peel bitterness. Some lemon and pine in the finish. 4.0%. Available at Kiitos.

Kiitos North east Style DIPA: Lots of citrus, pineapple and maybe a bit of papaya. The taste starts out a bit sweeter and finishes with just a bit of an alcohol kick. Definitely more complex than its more readily available younger brother.

2 Row Barrel Aged Dangeraux: This is a great pairing of saison and chardonnay. This isn't a sour beer, but the vinious qualities and the estery notes from the yeast trick the tongue into thinking your going down that road. I really loved this beer. 10.4% - Available at 2 Row, Slackwater

Double Mountain Hop Lion: Dank pine resin, generic citrus flesh, some muddled tropical fruitiness. The taste is pleasantly caramel like with some orange and grapefruit citrus peel. There’s an earthy quality as well with a mildly dank, leafy, :and piney hoppiness. 6.7% - Available exclusively at Beer Bar

Double Mountain Pale Death: Aroma of tropical fruits and Belgian esters. This taste has tropical hops up front with the yeast's fruity esters melding with the malt sweetness. 9.3% - Available exclusively at Beer Bar.

Double Mountain Aging Experimental 9 3/4 Sour: stout 9.0%

Double Mountain Oak Aged Cider: apple brandy and whiskey aged 9.7% - Available exclusively at Beer Bar.

Double Mountain Devil's Cuvee Kriek: Bing and Vann cherries create a tart, fruity aroma with hints of leather and a dry funk. The flavor is of course tart cherries with a nice level of low PH tartness. It finishes with a spicy/funky Belgian yeastiness. 9.5% - Available exclusively at Beer Bar.

Double Mountain No Collusion: This Imperial Stout is full of char, licorice and mild dark fruit. The back end is fairly bitter throwing the whole thing off. It's okay. 10.4% - Available exclusively at Beer Bar.

Double Mountain The Eleven: This English style Barley wine is full of burnt toffee cocoa and vanilla with a hint of citrus peel. This is probably the best barley wine I've had in months. You need this in your life. 13.2% - Available exclusively at Beer Bar.

Odell Green Coyote: I missed out on this Berliner weisse with tomatillios. I'm definitely seeking this one out today. 5.2% - Available at the Bayou, DABC .

Odell 90 Schilling: This is one of those beers that put Odell on the map. This amber ale is mildly malt with a moderate dose of floral and piney hops. 5.3% - Available at Beer Bar, Beerhive, DABC, Dick n' Dixie's

Odell IPA: In my opinion, one of the best IPAs ever. Big orange peel and malt aroma. The taste is bitter citrus right off the bat followed by a nice dose of caramel and tropical fruits. 7.0% - Available at Beer Bar, Beerhive, Dick n' Dixie's, DABC

Odell Rupture: They call this a "fresh grind ale". Juicy aroma with lots of grapefruit, orange peel and crackers. The taste has a big dose of pine resin, mango, orange juice and grapefruit peel. has a lingering resinous finish. 6.0% - Available at the Bayou

Odell Drumroll: This unfiltered American Pale Ale is a solid, easy drinking beer with great tropical fruit notes. 5.3% - Available at the Bayou

Odell Myrcenary: This DIPA has a nose full of pineapple, grapefruit and pine. The flavor follows with juicy grapefruit, booze and pine.

Odell Loose Leaf: Found this on draft at Beer Bar. The nose is piney with grapefruit. The taste has mild grapefruit, thin malts and pine. Some tart citrusy fruits round it out. 4.0%

Full Sail Summa' Time Lime Lager: Missed out on this one. 4.5% - Available at DABC

Wasatch Coconut Curry Kolsch: Reminds me of a vague Thai curry dish. Pleasant doses of both curry and coconut. 4.0% - Available at Wasatch's PC Brewpub and the UBC's West Side Tavern

Brewery Ommegang GOT Hand of the Queen: Missed out on this Game of Thrones Barley Wine 10.7% - Available at DABC.

New Beer Friday 12/8/17

Talisman Gingerbread Imperial Stout: This sounds amazing! An Imperial Stout with gingerbread? It's described as having a subtle gingerbread cookie taste with malt sweetness and a boozy finish. 10.5% ABV. Available at Talisman Brewing

Squatters London Fog: Squatters take on the famed tea latte is an English Golden with Earl Grayer tea infused at flame out and a dry addition post fermentation. Served on Nitro.

Kiitos Citra PaleAle: Nobody has had this. It supposed to debut today.... race ya! 4.0% ABV. Only avaible at Kiitos. 

Ommegang Winter is Here: This is a witbier with subtle clove, wheat crackers and a good dose of herbal hops. At 8.3% it's way heavy on alcohol and is guaranteed to turn the heartiest soul into a white walker. "My watch has ended". Available at DABC Stores.

pFriem Pilsner: Bloody Hell! what a nice pilsner. This one doesn't often hit markets outside of Oregon. Subtly sweet malts, dry crackers, toast and a healthy dose of grass and herbal hops make this pilsner sing! A must try. ABV is slightly high for style. Available at Beer Bar.

pFriem Oud Bruin: This sour brown ale is lightly tart with nice malty character and ample sourness to give it a great fruity profile without the addition of fruit. Not the best Oud Bruin I've had, but it's really enjoyable. 8.7% ABV. Available at Beer Bar.

pFriem Pumpkin Bier: Missed out on this one. It's described as fluffy pumpkin pie. 6.9% ABV.

pFriem Flanders Red: As sours go, Flemish Reds usually fall on the opposite sides of Oud Bruins. They are far more tart and less balanced. This is not that ; it actually has balance, which leads me to think that this beer is too young or slightly out of style. That being said, it drinks incredibly well. Try it now and try it again in a year to see if it changes. 7.0% ABV. Available at Beer Bar. Available at Beer Bar.

New Beer Friday 9/8/17

By now School is in full swing, if you're a student of drinking age your probably gunna need some New Beer Friday suds to help you in your end of the week decompression. Go Utes!

 

Shades of Pale - Sweet Dreams: I haven't had this yet. Debuts today at SOP. 8% ABV.

Talisman - Udder Chaos:  The nose has roasted malt and cocoa powder. The taste has deep roasted chocolate malt flavor, nicely bitter and isn't overly sweet. There is some sweetness in the middle before a lingering bitter finish that is part black coffee and roasted malt. Made with Park City's Ritual Chocolate. 4.0% ABV. Available at Talisman Brewery, Soon to Grocery and C-stores.
 

Brewery Ommegang - Pale Sour Ale:  The nose is tart with minerals and lemon. The flavor starts with malt, not quite grainy, maybe more cereal-like. The beer itself is more tart than sour. Cherry and lemon notes appear and there's some grassiness as well. Not super complex but very drinkable. 6.9% ABV. Available at select DABC Stores, Kimball Junction for sure.

Ballast Point - Bonito: The nose is malty sweet, lightly citrus and grassy. The flavor follows with more depth. It's subtly sweet with a touch of fruity lime-like citrus upfront. Median bitterness across the middle, and then followed by a dry grassy finish. 4.5% ABV. Available at select DABC Stores, Kimball Junction for sure.

Stone - 21st Anniversary Hail To the Hop Thief: A nice aroma of light citrus fruit, malt, and pine. The taste is kinda old school IPA meets West Coast IPA. There's a bit of malt with a good dose of pine, citrus fruit and a bit of lemon as well. A nice, well-balanced DIPA. 9.8% ABV. Available at the Beerhive, Slackwater. 

Beavertown / Garage Project / Stone - Fruitallica: The nose here has vague hops and fruit. No habanero notes at all. The same goes for the taste. No spice, heat or peppers. It relies on the the tropical fruits (yuzu and kiwi) to carry it. It's not a bad fruited IPA, but I was expecting a little more pepper snap. 8.0% ABV. Available at the Beerhive, Slackwater.

Fisher - Oyster Stout: This is much like their standard stout. Don't worry, it doesn't have "the worlds first great taste of fish"! ~ Monty Python. 4.0% ABV. At Fisher Brewing.

Great Divide - Hoss: This is a typical Märzen style lager. It's full of vanilla like caramel malts but it's more aggressively bittered with spicy and floral hops. 6.2% ABV. At the Beer Bar. 

Sierra Nevada - Ovila White Ale: A great example of the style. A good dose of wheat and coriander with spicy notes from the yeast. Very nice. 5.3% ABV.  At Beer Bar. 

Goose Island - Sofie: Soft malts, clove and Belgian yeast. There's a slight peachy tartness in the back end. Quite nice. 6.5% ABV At Beer Bar, BeerHive.

New Beer Friday 6/16/17

We have a broad choice of flavors for this week's New Beer Friday. We have a Bock, an Amber, a DIPA and a Belgian style Pale Ale. Plenty to keep your tongue occupied.

Stone Enjoy by 7/4/17 - This version has a nice nose of orange, lemon, peach and caramelized sugar.
The taste has bitter grapefruit peel and fruity malts. Lots of citrus here. Bitterness dominates here. Was expecting more tropical fruits based on the nose but it's adequately fruity. Dry and bitter finish. 9.4% ABV @ Beer Bar, Dick n' Dixies

Brewery Ommegang Bend the Knee -  This is the latest in Ommegang's Game of Thrones series of beers. The nose is floral and spicy. The taste starts with fruity and spicy yeast along with a good dose of honey. Peppery notes and coriander come next with some vinious orange and lemon. Bitter finish. This not my favorite style of beer but I found this pretty enjoyable. 9.0% ABV Bayou, Beer Bar

Desert Edge Hoppy Amber - The name says it all. This is an unfiltered amber ale featuring Simcoe, Centennial, and Wai-iti hops in the kettle and dry hopped with Mosaic. A nice toasty, caramel malt flavor balances the bright citrus from the hops for a small beer with big flavor. 4.0% ABV @ Desert Edge

Lagunitas Lagunator - I missed out on this one. This is a Bock, so look for a malt forward beer with a moderate amount of hops. 7.7% ABV @ DABC

New Beer Friday 3/25/16

When I came across this pic of Lauren Lerch - "squeeing" over her beer and weenie, I just had to co-opt it, twist it and mangle it for my own bizarre purposes. Brewery Ommegang ~ Game of Thrones Seven Kingdoms - This one is described as a hoppy wheat ale. It's described as having a hazy pale yellow with a thick cap of pure white foam. The aroma is floral, citrusy with a touch of passion fruit and a slightly herbal hop aroma underpinned with yeast notes of banana, ripe fruit, and spicy phenols. The taste is a full, round hop flavor with tart orange and lemon with a substantial wheat maltiness and the finish has slightly lingering hop notes without being harshly bitter. The mouthfeel is smooth and silken owing to the wheat and oats. 6.9% ABV @ DABC

Anderson Valley ~ Spring Hornin' - The nose has some spicy citrus notes with some honey malts as well. The taste is definitely hop forward with orange and other vague citrus flavors up front with a bit of pine in the back. There good malty backbone present as well that fades to a semi dry finish after mingling with the hops. 6.8% ABV @ DABC

Green Flash ~ Passion Fruit Kicker - Haven't tried this yet. It's a Wheat Beer made with passion fruit tea and passion fruit juice with a bit of  2-row malted barley. Described as tart and fruity. 5.5% ABV @ Slackwater - DABC

As predicted, the race between Squatters 529 and Epic's Elder Brett was a close one with the Elder pulling out the win. One of our previous finalists - Desert Edge's UPA, sadly falls against the powerhouse from Squatters, Fifth Element.

This second part of Round Two will have Avenues Proper going up against themselves (explain that one to your therapist, Rio)  and 2 Row's 2K Golden Ale may get a good fight going up against Epic's Hopulent IPA. Remember Hopulent replaced Corruption from Epic. Sadly I cannot edit the bracket once the competition has begun. Please keep that in mind when voting.

New Beer Friday...er Thursday!

Since it's Christmas tomorrow, we'll have New Beer Thursday! Note: LIQUOR STORES WILL CLOSE AT 6PM TONIGHT.

Uinta Stomping Grounds - It's a stout, so it looks "stouty" of course. Coffee is all over the nose a bit of malt trying to poke it's way through. Big coffee dominates the taste. Some chocolate and caramel round it out. It's pretty simple. If you're into coffee - you'll love it. Not so much? then I'd still give it a try. Who doesn't love coffee???? 8.1% ABV @ Uinta for now.

Uinta Snowbasin Amber Rye - Nice ruby hue. The nose is mostly pine and toasty malts. The taste starts malty and nutty with some rye spiciness. Big pine and a hint of citrus peel round it out. Finishes quite dry. Kinda reminds me of Cutthroat with rye. 4.0% ABV @ Uinta & Snowbasin Resort (for now)

Lagunitas Copper Fusion - I haven't tried it. If you have? tell us and share your thoughts on it here, please. This is Lagunitas' only draft beer available in Utah. 4.0% ABV @ Beer Bar, Spedelli's

Pelican Umbrella IPA - Fragrant nose of citrus and berry. The taste starts with a bit of malt sweetness. Some passion fruit and pear flavors come next. The fruitiness transitions to citrus peel and it ends with a bitter smack. Finishes moderately dry. Lighter in body, very drinkable. 7.4% ABV @ Bayou

Ommegang Game of Thrones - Iron Throne -Not tried this yet. Described as a Golden Blonde Ale with Noble hops. Iron Throne is certainly fair in color and soft in appearance.

Utah Brewers Cooperative  UT-X Series 1 - Not had this yet. It's descibed as unfiltered and light in color like a pale ale, with a sweet pear, light lemon and citrus flavor. 4.0% ABV @ Squatters/Wasatch Locations

New Beer Friday 4/18/14

Less a couple of beers, today's New Beer Friday is all about the Belgian styles. Luckily many of you have a long weekend to get to know them all.

Hennepin Saison: Cloudy straw with a substantial head. The nose is of sweet malt and a bit of citrus. The taste is peppery and spicey with clove upfront followed by juicy citrus, banana and bubble gum . Some wheat malt flavor is present plus a bit of alcohol The finish is dry. 7.70% ABV @Beer Bar

Ommegang Witte: The nose has banana, wheat, crackers, some spice and orange peel. the taste starts with wheat, earthy yeast and coriander. La Trappe Oak Aged Quadruple: The nose has raisin, brown sugar and belgian yeast. The taste
starts with dark sugar, fruity yeast and caramel malt. Raisin and cherry round out the back end with smooth oak coming through in the finish. It's quite sweet so take that into consideration. 10% ABV. @Beer Bar, Bayou

La Trappe Jubilaris: The nose is of malt, brown sugar and pear. The taste is much the same with dark malt, earthy dark fruits and and spices. Its finish is malty-dry, spicy and undeniably warm. 6.0% ABV @Beer Bar, Bayou

Green Flash/St. Feuillien Belgian Coast IPA:  The nose has Belgian yeast, clove, citrus hops and tropical fruit. The flavor starts with caramel malt, spicy Belgian yeast and light toffee. Finishes with lingering citrus hops and allspice. These are on the verge of getting old, they drink pretty well right now so gobble them now, they wont be too great in another month. 7.5%ABV @Bayou

Squatters French Saison: The nose is of malt, grain, yeast, spices, and some fruity aromas. Taste is much the same with a nice fruity flavor. There is a mild amount of spice bitterness on the palate with each sip. finishes slightly lemony. A nice quencher. 4.0% ABV @Squatters, Beerhive

Bonny Doon Query Cider: Not tried this one yet. 6.9% ABV @Beer Bar

Roosters One Trick Pony California Common:. It is a copper colored beer with mild caramel character. The “One Trick” refers to the single hop Nothern Brewer hops used which provides both the bitter and aromatic flavors. 4.0% ABV @Roosters locations

New Belgium La Folie: The nose is sharp with cherries, cider and oak. Smells tart and delicious. The taste starts Sour and it carries through. A nice blend of oak and fruit come midway. Touch of funk in the finish, would've liked more. Overall more sour then funky with a ingering woody aftertaste.  Nice sour ale, one of NB's more popular seasonals. Glad we got some in the state. 6.0% ABV @Bayou

New Belgium Hop Kitchen RyePA: Some sharp rye and pine resin in the nose. The taste starts with a bit of nuttiness along with a mild spiciness from the rye. The hops come next giving off some resiny and grapefruit-like notes. Pine dominates the finish. A solid rye. 6.6% ABV @Bayou

Firkin Friday at the Bayou has Hoppers 80 Schilling Ale on cask. This version is dry-hopped with Colorado Chinook hops. tapping is at 3pm.

The Sweet Sixteen Round is over and I'm a bit surprised by some of the outcomes. I expected a much closer race between Elephino/Ghostrider and Fith Element/Elder Brett. But in a huge upset, winning by just one point, Uinta's Sea Legs Baltic Porter bested Squatters' Outer Darkness Imperial Stout. The Elite Eight Round will begin on Monday after the holiday weekend.
