New Beer Friday 6/12/26

We here at Utah Beer Entertainment, Soirées and Shindigs will not be outdone by other's feeble attempts to hold unusual events in inappropriate places! Please join us for some New Beer Friday "wrassles" on Temple Square tonight. The sight of Mikey in his onesie will be worth the price of admission for sure. Please enjoy some of the following new beers during the event.

Beer Nerd radio will be less intense, but full of entertaining personalities. Steve Kuftinec and Erika Palmer will be in the Radio Pub to discuss Utah's distribution models for adult beverages in the state and how they affect consumers. We start nerding hard at 2pm on 99.9fm KUAA. KUAAfm.org/

Desert Edge - Pickle-Me-Timbers: I love a pickle beer. I do like this. It needs more brine and bite though. Nice dill weed flavor, but it needs more savory happiness backing it up. A squeeze of lime helps add some much needed acidity. 5.0% - Available at Desert Edge.

Talisman - Myopic: This new Hazy Double IPA features Mosaic, Dolicita and Ekuanot hops. These give it explosive berry, citrus and mango flavors with a velvety mouthfeel. 8.0% Available at Talisman now to enjoy in, or to go.

SL Brewing - ConspiRYEcy Theory: This beer features a new experimental hop from Roy hop farms. The base is a rye pale. Nice spiced orange nose. Oh my, Mikey Likey. Nice fruit punch with orange suckers. The rye adds a nice snappiness, not too rye forward, but that lollipop thing is delish! 5.0% - Available at SL Brewing/Squatters

Uinta - Top Secret: This new NZ Double IPA has a bill of Nectaron, Motueka & Nelson Sauvin. It starts off with a stonefruit/citrus nose. However the tastes hits with citrus and melon up front. Some fusel alcohol with some berry notes as well. Citrus rounds out the rest of the show. Love this hop bill, but something’s not quite right. Will revisit soon to make sure. 7.8% - Available now at Uinta.

Offset - Only Me: The newest Just Me features Crystal hops. Look for citrus character along with a little underlying spicy/floral note. Mostly Idaho grown Pilsner malt was used in this but a single decoction still gives it some euro lager vibes. 5.0% - Available now at Offset Bier.

TF / pFriem - pFamily Pilsner: Toasty/sweet Pilsner malt with a hint of herbal grass. Wow. A zesty and herbally zap of hops on the edge of fruitiness. I swear there’s some berry in there taking it to the Czech part of the pilsner spectrum. I get how it excelled in beer competitions before it’s release. 5.0% - Available starting today at TF.

RETURNING FAVORITES

Desert Edge - Haze Jebus: Oh my! This is soooo silky. The mouthfeel here is…umm. Luxurious. Almost pornographic in its softness. Ummm, yeah… so there’s a ton of peach here. It intermingles with strawberry orange peel and guava. There a DDH resinous bite towards the end. Jebus! 7.0% - Available now at Desert Edge.

Cheers!
