New Beer Friday 9/27/24

Tall Timber Session IPA
:
This “Northwest session IPA” features Willamette, Chinook, Cascade hops. Lotsa dry grapefruit peel, pine and floral qualities. Like ‘em old school? This will satisfy. 5.0% - Only at Hopkins.

Hopkins - Mission Improvable: his collab with Lauter Day Brewers is nice & crisp. Great malt profile with hops that blur between citrus & herbal hops. Tasty stuff. 5.0% - Only at Hopkins.

Kiitos/Strap Tank - Sweet Revenge: This collaboration Pours a light amber color with inch thick white head that dissipated quickly. Aroma is malty. The taste is malty up front, bread notes, followed by a herbal hoppy finish. Mouthfeel is crisp, medium bodied, easy drinkability. 5.0% - Available now at Strap Tank and Kiitos.

Salt Flats - Yet unnamed Stratta wet hop red ale: This beer is so new it doesn't have a name yet. It available on draft starting today. Look for fresh Strata hop as hop back and dry hopped with Strata and Zappa. Both give an incredible strawberry, blackberry, pineapple tropical aromas with a hint of pine and mint. 5.0% - Available at Salt Flats.

Chappell - Harvest: This Citrus wet hop has a nice malt profile that definitely more pale ale driven. The hops give off fresh tangerine with a hint of lime. Great pale ale. 5.0% - Only at Chappell.

Saltfire - Oktoberfest: This new Festbier has sweet biscuit dough with a touch of lemon and one of honey. There is very light scent of cut grass in the background. Taste follows the nose but with the lemon/herbal hop note somewhat more pronounced. There is also a slightly zesty bitterness. Things dry a bit towards the end. Tasty stuff. 5.0% - Available at SaltFire.

2 Row - Hop Twah: Missed this Triple IPA. 10.2% - Available at 2 Row, Slackwater.

Heber Valley - Dunkleweiss: Missed this one. No ABV listed. Available starting Saturday for HV Brewing's Oktoberfest Celebration.

Heber Valley - Bavarian Munich Helles: Missed this one. No ABV listed. Available starting Saturday for HV Brewing's Oktoberfest Celebration.

Heber Valley - Märzen: Missed this one. No ABV listed. Available starting Saturday for HV Brewing's Oktoberfest Celebration.

Uinta - Fourth & 20: This Fresh hop IPA features… you guessed it, Strata! This one feature a malt bill with some 2 Row malt along with pils malt. Malty & weedy aroma with some citrus. Taste follows with less weed, but tropical fruit, tangerine and herbal hop flavors round it out. 6.7% - Available at Uinta today.

Nightmare on Haze Street: Nice tropical aroma. Tastes peachy with honeydew melon and grapefruit peel. Some herbal hops toward the end with some medium lingering bitterness. Hint of cardboard. 8.6%  - Only at Beer zombies.

Beer Zombies/Seven Islands- Zombie Beast: This’n has Citra, HBC586 & HBC630 hops. It’s got a citrus thing happening straight-away. Less tropical with some peach, hints of berries. Low bitterness, but there is a zest quality. Perty tasty. Doesn’t look like it’s is on the menu yet. Ask for it. 8.0%  - Only at Beer zombies.

Beer zombies/ Mason - Crowns, Hammers and Zombies: Looks like this is the last one at Beer Zombies SLC. Sorry. Citra, HBC586 & El Dorado hops. Driest DIPA yet on the Tuesday Beer Zombie tour. Mostly citrus peel here, some subtle peachy malts, but for the most part, this is citrus driven. Love this place. 8.5% - Only at Beer zombies.

Beer Zombies/Hop Butcher - Zombie Hopsicle: Last beer on the Tuesday Zombie Tour Features Citra, Strata, HBC630 & Nelson with guava & strawberry. This Hop Butcher Collab doesn’t mention lactose, but has a nice sweetness that is 💵 w/ this hop salad. Sooo drinkable & appealing for a fruited IPA. 7.5%  - Only at Beer zombies.

Here are this week's Small Batch Beer from Hopkins.

Cheers!
