New Beer Friday the 13th - 6/13/25

Friday the 13th may be considered to be unlucky, but New Beer Friday the 13th is lucky AF!

Beer Nerd Radio has a conversation with Jack Rabbit Brewing today (Friday) at 2pm. Where did they come from? Where are they? What kind of beers will they have? All excellent questions. And we'll get into it all, a little later on 99.9fm KUAA.

Uinta - Mimosa Super Nova: This has a sour base. From there it's all orange. The main flavors are lactic tartness combined with citric acid. These flavors duke it out for the most part and make it quite drinkable if you're into citrus. 5.0% - Available at Uinta.

Uinta - Sanchez's SnakePit: Mostly citrus & melon aroma - some berries too. Tastes more herbally up front. It’s well hopped for sure. The melon, citrus & berry come next, in that order. Tastes like there’s some NZ hops in there. Perty damn tasty. On the R&D handle. 5.0% - Available at Uinta.

RoHa - Mustache Mercury: Somewhat herbal, vegital & citrusy. Some berry notes back it up with a near dankness. There’s a lot of hops in here and it just dials-in at DIPA strungth. 8.1% Available at RoHA.

Offset - German Saaz: Missed this new lager. 5.0% - Available at Offset Bier.

Fisher - Zumo's First Divorce: Missed this new pale ale featuring Zumo hops. 5.0% - Available on draft at Fisher.

Cheers!

New Beer Friday 5/30/25

Tired of those other beer release days leaving your body dazed and confused? Try New Beer Friday! Our patented weekend release schedule keeps you body primed for your weekend adventures.

You may also need something a little stronger. That's why Beer Nerd Radio has invited Salt Flats' Head Distiller, Trent Moore to join Steph and Mikey in the radio pub. Salt Flats has recently received international praise for their whiskey! we'll tell you which one this afternoon at 2pm on 99.9FM KUAA.

Shades - Coyote UgliGreat citrus aroma, it’s vague but enticing. The flavor is basically Sunny Delight. A great citrus cocktail with a good amount of malt & citrus forward hops. The overall vibe is fresh & silky, with a great mouthfeel and ABV punch that’s not boozy. 8.0% - Available now at Shades.

Uinta - Liminal Space: This Thiolized Lager is super dank smelling, maybe grapefruit? A lil more fruitiness coming from the thiols in the taste. Berries? It’s still vague to me but it’s pleasant. Base is toasty with herbal hops. Overall, it's nicely crushable - yet chewy lager. 5.0% - Available at Uinta.

Uinta - Wasánjeles Familiar: This Mexican-style lager take on the WasAngeles lager seems to have a bit of corn added for that Cerveza feel. Kinda like it a lil more than WasAngeles. Add the lime and it's really tasty. Not exactly a “crispy boi” but it’ll do. 5.0% - Available at Uinta.

Fisher - Triticale Blues: This beer was made with Triticale, a grain that's kind of a mix between Wheat and Rye. Look for crackery and toasty elements, the whole thing finishes nice and dry. If you are a fan of American Wheat Beer, this is the one for you. 5.0% - Available at Fisher.

Chappell - Barrel Aged Series (Soak On - The First Date) I won't be here next week, so I'm giving you the info on this beer now. Look for it only at Chappell Brewing on FRIDAY JUNE, 6TH! This sour ale was made with White Miso, Yuzu And Ginger. It was aged in Sake Barrels.

Also of Interest: Chappell Brewing now has a bar license. So your beverage options just got a whole lot bigger over there.

Cheers!

New Beer Friday 5/23/25

Whoa! So many diverse flavors are in store for you this weekend. The New Beer Friday "research" team, put in a ton of overtime to get you the best plan of attack for your weekend enjoyment. Also happening today Policy King's SLC Brewery opens for the first time at their new Central Ninth location. See you there!

Bewilder Brewing's dynamic brewing duo, AKA Steven Engel and Brian Best visit the radio pub, to discuss the changing landscape in Utah's beer scene. We'll also talk about their newest small batch barrel releases. Dial-us-in today (Friday) at 2pm on 99.9fm KUAA.

Epic - Matsumoto Rice LagerThis beer was brewed and named in tribute to Salt Lake City’s sister city in Matsumoto, Japan. Brewed using Japanese rice and historical Japanese brewing mash and decoction techniques. The slightest hint of lemon in the nose. Palate-wise there’s a good amount of malt toastiness with a super clean dinner roll profile. Then it all dries out. Kinda like Rice Krispies but finishes with a light lemon-grass like hop profile. 5.7% - Available starting today at Epic.

Saltfire - Punch a NaziCitrus peel, grass & pine start it off. There’s some nice malt character backing it up too. The end basically rides an herbal hop slide til the end. Bitter finish but not lingering. Love the name!

Park City - Exit 145: This new West Coast IPA features Citra, Simcoe and Centennial hops. Look for a bright citrus aroma with herbal notes, light tropical fruit, and caramel malts. Tastes of floral, bright citrus, lemon, grapefruit, a little orange, light tropical notes, passion fruit, a touch of spice, and some caramel malt sweetness. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Very nice brew. Tons of flavor and a very reasonable 7.5% ABV. Refreshing, just what I needed.

Bewilder - The Notorious BDG: This limited run Biere de Garde was aged in a rye whiskey barrel  that previously had bitters aged in it. Previous to that it held gin that was aged for 7 years. This blend of spirits creates a surprisingly fruity nose, notes of whiskey-lotsa fig and currant. Similar taste with the addition of bitters, but it’s not bitter. Make sense? Some of the gin starts to show next with juniper and oak rounding it out. Finish slightly herbal prob from bitters. The biters from the barrel really start to become more pronounced the more the beer warms. 10.4% - Available starting today at Bewilder.

RoHa - Born This Way Hazy IPA: Brewed to celebrate Pride Day. There's a great tangerine and nectarine profile. Probably should have called this Beervarine? Naaa. A solid flavor profile that just fires on all cylinders. Just a hint a bitterness to keep things from getting boring. Creamy overall and immensely drinkable. 5.0% - Available starting today at RoHa.

UTOG - Ales for ALSThis beer is part of a fundraiser project for Ales for ALS. Beer lovers from around the world coming together to end ALS through this unique hop blend.  A portion of the proceeds from this beer will go to Ales for ALS. The hop blend for this year's release has Krush, Simcoe, Mosaic, HBC522 and HBC 1019.

Helper - Lime Gose: Missed this one. 5.0% - Available at Helper Brewing.

Hopkins - Dunkelweiz-up: This German-style beer, a is fusion of Dunkel and Hefeweizen, offers pleasant esters of banana and cloves from the weizen ale yeast, complemented by the sweet maltiness and chocolate notes. 5.0% - Available now at Hopkins.

New Beer Friday 5/16/25

Excellent news! The New Beer Friday Party Plane was recently gifted to our readers by the American Temperance Society and boy are we excited. We can now airlift our readers to any brewery on the globe. But why would you go anywhere, when there's such a strong beer weekend ahead. Check out these new brews.

Also, did you know that Utah's first dedicated meadery is opening soon? Jeffery Walker of Mountain Meadery will be join us in the "radio pub" Friday to educate us about mead and how Mountain Meadery came about. check us out Fridays at 2pm on 99.9FM KUAA or stream us on KUAAFM.org.

Uinta - That Dawg In Me: Toasty grains, combine with citrus and melon up front. Next comes coconut? 🤔 woody and herbal hops. It wraps up with a firm bitter finish. Described as a “hoppy lager” on the R&D tap. 5.0% - Only at Uinta.

Uinta - Endankafication: This Imperial IPA was made with Pilsner and Munich malts and hopped with Strata Simcoe and Cascade. A big chewy nose - like me. The hops run the show, very much a WCIPA. Big citrus and pine flavors with an ample malty base. Great use of German malts! I really love how the brewers used German malts to recreate traditional “old school” crystal and 2 Row malt flavors. Nerding hard over here!!!! 8.9% - Available at Uinta

SaltFire - Devolved Amber: Dry aroma. Mostly floral/herbal hops. Taste has a lot of malt toastiness with light sweetness. On the edge of dry for an amber, but the dryness ups the drinkability. 5.0% - Available at Saltfire on draft.

Saltfire Series of Singularities - 2025 Pink Boots Blend: Great herbal start that pushes to citrus towards the end of the swig. A lil bit of pineapple pops - that’s soon overcome by a grassy herbal bite. I’m digg’n this un. 7.3% - Available at Saltfire.

Saltfire - Getts's Mojito BlondeThis Mojito enhanced blonde takes a great damn photo! Mint pops from the nose, with hints of lime. It tastes exactly like it smells, it’s not toothpaste, more Amalfi Lemon Sorbet with a sprig of mint. 5.0% - Available at Saltfire.

Shades - Send Temps Cold: This “Cold IPA” is herbal and citrusy at the same time. There’s definitely more citrus “twang” than herbaceous bite, but the overall profile is pleasant and it keeps your mind on the pint. 5.0% - Available at Shades.

Shades - Pineapple Upside Down Cake: Okay, big smoothie pineapple at first whiff - some pecan too. Damn, it is smoove. It’s all that’s described, nutty, pineapply and it is satisfying. It’s probably on the “smoothie” side of the spectrum. It offers a a nice dessert option that pops.

 6.5% - Available at Shades.

Shades - Spring Fever: Missed this grapefruit Radler 5.0% - Available at Shades.

Saltfire - Slickrock Sessions light bodied, big fruity aromatics and taste with a mild bitter finish to make this beer the perfect crusher. 5.0% - Available at Saltfire

2 Row - Pineapple Habanero Blonde: Hint of chiles in the nose. Taste is light pineapple with some nice scratchy heat from the Habanero. It’s not super hot, scratchy is the best “heat descriptor”. Would pair great with some fatty smoked meat or fish.

2 Row Millennium Legacy: This beer celebrates 2 Row's 1000th brew. Nice citrus aroma. Tastes follows with a nice malt profile. Works well with the hops used - Millennium & Citra? Regardless, a tasty beer for number 1000. 5.0% - Available 5/4 at the 2 Row.

Red Rock - Perzikboom: Described as a lighter version of Paardebloem. A light, bright and effervescent summery tulip of joy, the Perzikboom features soft peach, grains of paradise, and dandelion notes that live in perfect harmony with pillowy toasted pilsner malts. 5.0% - Available at Red Rock

Red Rock - Northwest Pilsner: Think earthy, piney and floral in hop department. Combined with a lightly sweet and toasty malt bill and you get a nice easy drinking pils. 5.0%

Hopkins/Ogden Beer - ET Prost Home: A collaboration brew with Ogden Beer Co. for The Great Beer Mashup! This classic German Pilsner is a light yet full-bodied beer with a crisp malt profile. The beer boasts a noticeable flavor of German Saaz hops, which are spicy and herbal.

Uinta - She-Wolf: Nice malt profile. Hops are full of orange peel and pith. An herbal blast backs it up with some melon dancing around in the back ground. Super tasty. This hop blend definitely shines with a proper malt bill behind it. 5.0% - At Uinta.

Uinta - Tariff Free Saision: Phenolic, clovey aroma. Not too much yeast spiciness with some toasty wheat. All-in-all it’s a solid saison. Not too peppery & band-aid-y. If you’re not a fan of the style this may work for you. 5.0% - At Uinta.

Offset - Nothing But Lasers: This Double IPA is a mashup of Laser Kiwi & All Black Nothing,. It features Waimea, Nelson Cryo, Riwaka, Nelson, NZ Cascade & Nectaron. The aroma is intense tropical fruit with some really unique notes of star fruit, white grapefruit zest, and even some red berry notes. Flavor follows suit. This has a great balance of intensity of flavor and drinkability. It's not super thick or heavy on the palate for the level of hop intensity Offset was able to achieve. 8.0% - Available at Offset.

New Beer Friday 4/25/25

A good old fashioned assault of craft beer goodness awaits your weekend! A great mix of IPAs with dark and light beers as well. Happy New Beer Friday.

The Beer Nerds get our Spirits on with a visit from Dented Brick Distillery. Harley Norwood and Brandon Webster will walk us through their portfolio of spirits and beverages. We get started at 2pm every Friday on 99.9FM KUAA - stream us at KUAAFM.org/

Offset - AUS Cascade: Featuring AUS Cascade in the kettle and first dry hop with a second equally as large dry hop of Galaxy. Lots of Passion Fruit, bright citrus, a little spice, and some piney/herbaceous notes in the flavor. 5.0% - Available at Offset Bier.

Offset - Guest Experience (Mixed Doubles): This West Coast Extra Pale Ale features Gooding Farms Amarillo & Centennial in the kettle and whirlpool and a shit load of whole leaf Crystal hops in the hopback. After fermentation it was dry-hopped it with more Centennial, Amarillo, and a new experimental public variety called HRC-003. Lots of bright citrus and stone fruit on the nose followed by some classic pine, resin, and herbaceous notes that keep it from being a total juice bomb. Clear, dry, and bitter. 6.0% - Available at Offset Bier.

2 Row - Trappist Belgian Single: Very light aroma, hint of clove. Very light, like a table beer. Some light phenolic yeast drives this for the most part. Not much in the way of malt profile. The way it should be for a Belgian Small or Table beer. 4.8% - Available at 2 Row.

Helper - Mindset: This Extra Pale Ale has lots of ripe citrus and tropical fruit in the nose with some crackers giving it a malt forward feel. Subtle orange blossom and a nice juiciness ensured that this would be easy to drink and quite relaxing with some stone fruit emerging in the back once this fully warmed up. The carbonation was spot-on as this never felt too heavy on the palate. The alcohol was light and it complemented the floral undertone well. 5.0% - Available at Helper Beer - look for it at select beer pubs around SLC.

Ogden Beer/Sprits of Coffee: This new coffee beer features a Vienna base with barrel-aged coffee from SLC's Spirits of Coffee. The aroma is moderate in strength featuring medium roast coffee beans, baking cocoa, and hints of sweet toasted malt. The taste is bittersweet roasted/toasted malt with complementary coffee. Minimal finishing bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium/light bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, excellent coffee lager. 5.0% - Available at Ogden Beer.

Top of Main - Hop on Hop: The aroma has a mix of sweet citrus and fruity aromas mixed with herbal and pine notes. The taste begins with a mix of bready flavor, combined with mixed with citrus and pine. As the taste moves on, the citrus fades, but the pine grows stronger and is joined by some flavors of a slightly more earthy and herbal hop flavor. With the bit of sweet that was present upfront fading, one is left with a more dry, but rather pleasantly hoppy flavor to linger on the tongue. 8.0% - Available at Top of Main, SL Brewing locations.

Top of Main - Galactic Destroyer: This Imperial Stout has a dark, bittersweet chocolate and coffee aroma with char. molasses. anise and somewhat burnt sugar. A fair amount of earth too.

An earthy and bitter tastes hits up front, but nothing overwhelming. This becomes char, dark chocolate, and some coffee. Molasses and cocoa follow. The earthy notes return towards the end. The sip finishes bittersweet and this lingers into and through the aftertaste which is very much unsweetened chocolate. 10.9% - Available at Top of Main, SL Brewing locations.

Talisman - WHIPA: Missed this new White IPA. 5.0% - Available at Talisman and Slackwater.

New Beer Friday 4/18/25

You broke my heart, Utah Beer. After a week that saw the announcment of Wasatch Squatters closing up shop, Beer Zombies pulling out of Utah and the Garage on Beck also announcing its closure – it's been a lot take in.

It not all bad though, many neighboring states are seeing diminishing breweries across the board, while Utah will likely see four breweries open statewide. Home Range, Wolfdog, Strap Tank (St. George) and Jack Rabbit Brewing are all eyeing openings sometime in 2025. On top of that you have two new cideries (Dendrick Estate & Hobbled Dog) and even Mountain Meadery opening soon in Grantsville. Actually, things are looking much better.

Beer Events this weekend include: Ogden Beer Fest at The Monarch. Hit @ogdenbeerfest for details. The RoHa Brewing Project celebrates 8 years this Saturday and in honor of that, there are three new beers to enjoy while you're there. @rohabrewing.

Salt and Hops, Northern Utah's premier craft beer store stops into the radio pub (in-between beer pick-ups) and fills us in regarding what's new and what sets them apart from the rest-of-the-pack. 2pm! that's the time every damn Friday on 99.9FM KUAA.

RoHa - Above the Clouds Hazy IPA: Hopped with Citra, Cryo Citra, Mosaic. Great citrus profile. Full of grapefruit and white peach. Nice round mouthfeel with a small dose of berries in the end. 7.2% - Available at RoHa 4/18

RoHa - The Great 8 Oenobeer!: Infused with Syrah grapes, this ale has a base cream ale with a subtle amount of Syrah grapes coming trhough. It works more as an accompaniment to the beer instead of dominating it. Quite tasty and enjoyable. 5.0% - Available at RoHa 4/18

RoHa - Great White BuffaloDry coffee forward aroma. Taste is very coffee.with Some nice peppery/chili notes (there’s no peppers in here). Works well with base cream ale. Great White Stout/Coffee Beer. 5.0% - Available now at RoHa.

Epic - Fire on the Mountain: Big nug/chewy/dank nose. Super citrusy, with a good dose of stone fruit and cannabis. A massive amount of fruit and weediness in one can. I like the way the apricot plays off the terps. Mikey Likey! Edited: I got another.

TF - Silly Rabbit: There’s a lot of fresh cut greens in the nose that translate perfectly into the first swig. Dank & weedy like TF’s Terp beers are known for. But I get a good dose of sagebrush - lemon too. The brewers tell me, “not much has changed”, but damn! This batch is super resinous. Hate ‘em or love ‘em, you can’t deny these are potent with flavor and character.

Level Crossing - El Santo: This lager is the vision from brewer, Emerson Bonasbora. Her interpretation on this  Mexican-style lager features Saaz in the main boil with Motueka in the dry-hop. A great tasting lager that gets all the right notes with a lightly sweet malt character combined with an herbal hop character. towards the finish you get a slight burst of citrus from the motueka. I hope this finds a place in the regular rotation. 5.0% - Available at Level Crossing.

Bewilder - Pink Pony Pilz: This beer hits today. No notes. 5.0% only at Bewilder.

2 Row - Dank Engine: This 420 IPA debuts on 4/20. 8.7% - Only at 2 Row on 4/20.

Chappell - Terped Up Crisoy Boi: Missed this one. 5.0% - Available at Chappell.

New Beer Friday 4/11/25

Unlike Mattel, New Beer Friday has never gone too far and is always tasteful (please stop laughing). Speaking of tasteful our beer selections this week, are not only tasty, but damn delicious. We have two West Coast Pilsners this week. You should try them both, just to be safe.

The Tour de Brewtah and Summer Shandy Fest will be discussed today (Friday) on Beer Nerd Radio. Check us out at 2pm on 99.9fm KUAA.

Red Rock - Everybody Wins: Citrus notes, grassiness, pilsner malt, floral hops, and a little honey build in the aroma Tastes of lemon and orange-led citrus fruit and grass jump out at first, followed by some bread and pilsner malt. More citrus and strong flower notes keep things going before some sharp hop notes and dryness close things out. 5.0% - Available at Red Rock's Beer Store.

TF - West Coast-style Pilsner: Made with Strata CGX, Nelson, Cascade, and Hallertau Mittelfruh. Definitely got some melon and citrus on the nose. Dank herbal notes of melon, grapefruit, berries and cannabis are all over the pallet. Clean with a chewy hop finish. Chock full of hops and it tastes pretty damn good. 6.8% - Available at TF starting today.

Returning Favorite

Uinta's Dubhe returns for a limited time just in time for 4/20. Dubhe, (pronounced "Doo-bee") is the official state centennial star and is one of the seven bright stars that make up The Big Dipper. Dubhe is a Black IPA made with hemp seed.

Pours a dark mahogany color with nice mocha head. The nose is of sweet dark fruit, caramel, dark roasted malts as well as a big dose of pine and booziness. The taste starts sweet with dark chocolate, toffee and a hint of licorice. Pine resin and slight citrus fruit balance nicely. The end is earthy and boozy with a leathery spiciness. The finish is sharp with hop bitterness. Well balanced with a warmth in the finish that makes this complex delicious beer extremely drinkable at 9.3%

New Beer Friday 4/4/25

There's no cheating this week, as you're free to be in an open relationship with any of these New Beer Friday brews.

This week's Beer Nerd Radio welcomes back "beer guinea pigs" Jeremy Mathews and Kent Haynes as Steph and Mikey put their tongues through the wringer on another Mystery Beer Show. Hit us up today (Friday) at 2pm on 99.9fm KUAA and it'll all make sense.

Epic - Brainless on Sake: In celebration of spring, Epic Brewing is releasing Brainless on Sake - a unique twist on their classic Brainless Belgian Ale. This edition is aged 100% in used sake barrels and infused with plum, black currant, and blackberries. The aroma is plum skin mostly. Flavor-wise there’s some sake for sure at the front end with oak as well. Plum and the other dark fruit carry-on from there, making this a nice drinking fruited Belgian. Not much Belgo-yeast present. Great beer, very little of the 10.5% alcohol is present. Available at Epic starting today.

RoHa - Gorlami: This Italian-style Pilsner has a big toasty malt bill with a green and herbal hop profile that is field-forward, lemony & grassy. Nice dry finish. 5.0% - Available at RoHa.

Proper - Balkansko: This is a "Balkan-style Lager" and from what I understand, they’re somewhat Helles adjacent. Definitely has some Helles qualities. A little more toasty with some vegital hops. Herbal/grassy hops pop out after with general clean and dry finish. 5.0% - Available at Proper.

Salt Flats - Bees BrewDestroyed this shaker in moments. Imagine sitting in the sun with a cup of this. Light toasty grains with a hint of citrus, then it’s all herbal & grassy yo the clean finish. 5.0% - Available at all Salt Flats locations and The Ballpark at America First Square.

Kiitos - Gluten Free IPAIf I gotta have one gluten free beer while I’m stuck on an island, it’ll probably be this one. Not sure what hops are in here - thinking an NZ hop? Nope. Citra, Mosaic and Strata. If you want a GF IPA, this one is will be your best pal.

SL Brewing - Strawberry Cream Ale (Nitro): Look for sweet but subtle strawberry with a lightly malty base the nitrogen gives it a silky smooth body which causes the brew to disappear immediately from the glass. Head Brewer, Jason Stock's nitro tap is becoming one of my favorite things lately. 5.0% - Available at SL Brewing.

SL Brewing - Raspberry Orange Wheat Ale: Missed this one, but I think you get the point. 5.0% - Available at SL Brewing.

New Beer Friday 3/28/25

Yup this week's meme, pretty much sums up the staff here at Utah Beer Industries (me). That being said, excellent flavors await you this week with a varied scope of ABVs and styles. Make the trip to your favorite haunt, or one that has been off your radar for a while. It'll be time well spent.

BoHo is back in Radio Pub this week as Beer Nerd Radio gets ready for spring with Utah's original lager house. Kelly Schaefer always delivers the Bohemian goods as beer nerds from all over Utah prep for the warm weather. Check us out at 2pm on 99.9FM KUAA.

Ogden Beer - Shadow Empress: This new Imperial stout has an aroma heavy with dark roasted malts, with some char, molasses and vanilla peeking out. The taste has a good balance between the dark malts and the piney, earthy hops. There is a note close to cherry, along with the char and molasses. Also has chocolate, coffee, and slight vanilla. Slight bitterness at the end. Full mouth feel, with a very creamy texture. Not complex, but made very well for Ogden Beer's first stab at this style. 9.5% - Available now at Ogden Beer.

Ogden Beer - Anchovy Krush: This one is self explanatory. A session IPA with Anchovy and Krush Hops. What a combo! 5.0% - Only at Ogden Beer.

Helper - Japanese Rice Lager: We will do a live analysts on this one live on Beer Nerd Radio, today at 2pm. 5.0%

Bewilder/Slackwater - Czech PilsnerSuper dry and hoppy notes start-off this collab beer. The hops are the definite star of the show here. Some slight berry skin tanginess wayyy in the background, kinda Kölsch-esque, but it compliments the overall dryness of this lager. Malt profile is bready & toasty with Saaz hoppiness. A great lager a see a stein of this in my future today. 5.0% - Available only at Bewilder and all Slackwater locations.

UTOG - Bar DownMy first swigs of this Session IPA were so long, forgot how thirsty a warm day will make you. Hops are spot on just enough citrus peel, berries and herbal bite to make it sing. Worth snagging this freshie ASAP. 5.0% - Available at UTOG now.

UTOG - Anniversary Ale VI: Happy 6th Anniversary to UTOG! This barrel aged version of Redeye imperial Red Ale is well hopped. It’s starts nice and flowery with the whiskey barrel coming next. The base is malty, but not barleywine malty, more like IPA malty. The hops and barrel are neck-n-neck, with a good punch of alcohol rounding it out. Think: American-style, Barrel-aged Strong Ale. 10.3% - available at UTOG.

Talisman - Honey Badger: This was made with Honey from Talisman’s Family's Honey Farm. Very cool that both the Witbier and the Honey Cream Ale are both present at first swig. You get orange peel for sure, grains of paradise, then the honey and cream ale. Never had this combo before, it works quite well. Nice body too. 5.0% - Only at Talisman

Level Crossing's Space Oddity is back with a style change as the traditional NEIPA makes it move to the West Coast. Not much has really changed recipe wise. It was brewed with orange blossom honey and an outer space themed blend of Comet, Galaxy, Apollo, Ekuanot, Strata and Enigma hops. You get a very explosive aroma, full of citrus peach and pineapple. The taste follows with the addition of grapefruit pith and some hints of mango. the pith carries into the finish creating some lingering bitterness at the end. 8.8% - This returns for Level Crossing's Anniversary party on Saturday.

Here are this week's Small Batch Beers from Hopkins Brewing
