New Beer Friday 12/5/25

Are you stuck in a rut, with any ol' cheap hooch? This New Beer Friday will bring you back from the brink! This week's tasty new beers are guaranteed to keep you off the terlet floor... well, most of you. Note: The raccoon ain't dead, just passed out drunk from his liquor store escapades.

Did you know there's a new Utah based distillery? Holistic Spirits will be our bartenders in the radio pub today (Friday). We'll get into what they're all about and what famous person is part of the crew. Hit us up at 2pm on 99.9fm KUAA or stream us, KUAAfm.org/

RoHa - Pre-Prohibition Lager: This American lager style was revived in the 1990s and is characterized by a fuller body and more pronounced flavor than modern light lagers. Great malt profile. All that toasty malt with a medium/light amount sweetness. Hops are somewhat aggressive as well. Leaving some grassy herbal zap on the tongue. Tasty “PrePro” lager. 5.0% - Available now at RoHa.

Bewilder - Dos Hazy Boi (Southern Hemisphere): This Superdelic, Galaxy, Riwaka & Motueka hopped DIPA is goddamn Brilliant treat for your mouth! Melon, berries, citrus blast up front. THEN ample malt sweetness & more resinous hops create a dank salad of gnarly DIPA. 8.1% - Available at Bewilder today.

Talisman - Sour Encounter (Pomegranate): Missed this sour pomegranate ale. 5.0% - on draft now at Talisman.

Talisman - Foggy Goggles: This hazy session IPA features mango and passionfruit with tangerine and orange backing it up. A pillowy mouthful backs it all up. 5.0% - on draft now at Talisman.

TF - Skiers' Delight: Slight adjunct aroma. Some apple peel will crisp citrus, nudging towards the lemon/lime side. Clean overall. Very bright & light. As you’d expect from an Apré beer.

If you're a fan of Beer Zombies' beers they are still sending them into the market. You can only find them at the former Beer Zombies pub now called Happy Taps or at SnowmoBAR. SnowmoBAR has a relationship/partnership with Beer Zombies and may become the go to place for these beers in the future.

Beer Zombies - Hazes of Death II: This double Hazy IPA is so nice! Big citrus & malt. It’s a lot to take in. The malt & alcohol are punching it out. But the hops are equally brutal. I’d say this was a meek IPA, less the massive hop punch. Pursue this beer. It’s worth your time today. 8.0% Found at Happy Taps and SnowmoBAR.

Beer Zombies/Tin Bridge - Lorna Shore: A collaboration for Lorna Shore, an American deathcore band from New Jersey. This double dry-hopped IPA is citrus driven for shore (see what i did there). The hops are full of tangerine & grapefruit. Some nice stonefruit too, but this is mostly citrus. Definitely gunna seek out this NJ band to see what’s behind this damn IPA. 7.5% Found at Happy Taps and SnowmoBAR.

Beer Zombies - Duck Hunter: This version features Ekuanot and Citra hops. On the edge of old. A good amount of citrus & herbal hops. Oddly boozy for 7.2%. Maybe it’s a sign of things to come. It’s fine.

Beer Zombies - Blood Orange Boomstick: Missed this This Blonde Ale  5.5% Found at Happy Taps and SnowmoBAR.

Beer Zombies - Dole Hwhip Lemonade: Missed this one. 4.3% Found at Happy Taps and SnowmoBAR.

Beer Zombies - Mulligan: This West Coast Pils has a great malt profile that pushes off a blast of herbal and citrus.  4.6% Found at Happy Taps and SnowmoBAR.

Beer Zombies - Los Guerreos: This Mexican-style lager has Lime essence with a hint of salt to start it off. Clean overall. The lagered base is solid. It’s quite tasty. If offered a lime? Say, no. Try it first without, if it doesn’t jive then ask for one, but I don’t think it’s necessary. Nice beer. 5.0% Found at Happy Taps and SnowmoBAR.

Here are this week's Small Batch beers from Hopkins Brewing.

Cheers!
