In the Radio Pub, Steph and Mikey will be coating their vocal cords with heavenly flavors from Proverbial Spirits in this week's Beer Nerd Radio. Co-owner and flavor magician Steven Currie joins us to walk through the Park City distilleries line up spirits and canned cocktails. 2pm is when we get started on 99.9fm KUAA. KUAAfm.org/
Offset - Vert: This is part of Offset's new year round line up. Vert is a West Coast Double IPA is built on a base of classic American hop varieties that deliver flavors of grapefruit, pine, and resin that are easily identifiable and comfortably familiar. Then two newer hop varieties that add more modern flavors of stone fruit, exotic citrus and candied tropical fruit. It's a really unique beer with flavors you'll recognize and ones you've probably never experienced before. 8.0% - Avaiable now in cans at Offset Bier. Soon to hit SLackwater the Bayou and other great beer pubs.
Epic - Sake Barrel Aged Apricot Blonde: Somewhat oaky aroma. Tastes of stonefruit right off. Kinda reminds me of the brainless barrel, aged peach. The apricot isn’t super intense, but it does overwhelm the sake a bit. Very tasty & complex at 5% Would absolutely recommend for Brainless fans. Available now.
Epic - No Big Dill: New pickle beer in SLC! This is just spiced enough. Dill weed drives it, but does have that nice savory component. I would recommend with a couple tobacco dashes or even a lime squeeze if you don’t want the heat. Damn delish!!! 5.0% - Available now.
Uinta - Bla Bla: Not to be confused with Uinta's Baba Black Lager, this toasty pils malt up front. Some minor malt sweetness backing up. The berry is very subtle, really only rearing its head in the finish. Don’t know if I’ll drink a ton of this. But if I was designing this beer, this is how I’da made it. 5.0% - on now at Uinta. 🫡
Also, We Say goodbye to Kiitos Brewing tomorrow 8/29. A victim of greed and exploding real-estate prices, this great brewery was done before it's time. While Kiitos' Sugar House pub will still be a round for a minute You won't see any new Kiitos beer anytime soon. Contract brewing may be an option or a new brewery down the road, who knows, but it's another sad day for Utah Beer Nerds. Kiitos (Thanks you) to Kiitos!
Cheers!
