On the last day of April we have a simple and diverse selection of pub ales with an American twist. You can't go wrong with any of this week's New Beer Friday options.
Level Crossing - Fruit Bat: This is their Belgian style blonde ale made with tangerine mango and passion fruit. It has a nose mostly of tangerine with some spicy yeast notes. The taste for the most part is a fruit salad of the three with the passion fruit showing up mostly at the end. Nice and refreshing. 5.0% - Only at Level Crossing.
Level Crossing - Mad Oats: This is the 'hazy' version of their In The Pines pale ale. Nice turbid looking peach color. This is full of oats giving it a silky feel that leaves no residue in the glass. Hops are very tropical and melon-like with Sabro cryo, Idaho 7, Columbus, Lotus, Citra and Citiva. 5.0% - Only at Level Crossing.
Squatters - Hoppy Joe: This pale ale features Strata, Simcoe and Mosaic hops. This is a citrus driven pale ale with some herbal bitterness in the finish. Just what you want from an American Pale Ale. 5.0% - Only at Squatters Downtown brewpub.
Squatters - Julius on Nitro: Made with Munich malts this beer features Strata hops with Mosaic in the dry hop. Citrus peel was also added to the beer to boost the citrus qualities. It all comes together nicely as the nitro gas really allows the hops and citrus to shine. A super smooth and crushable ale. 5.0% - Only at Squatters Downtown brewpub.
Squatters - Black Sunshine: This is a cascadian dark ale hopped with Simcoe and Mosaic. The beer has a good amount of roasted malt that comes off as cocoa. The hops add nice notes of citrus peel and hint of pine. A nice example of the style. 5.0% - Only at Squatters Downtown brewpub.
Salt Flats - Pink Boots Strawberry Basil Gose: German-style Sour brewed using Pink Boots Blend hops combined with pink Himalayan sea salt, coriander, and basil that gives the beer a subtle spice and saltiness. The beer is then infused with strawberry creating a taste that is mildly tart and spicy with a sweet strawberry aftertaste. 5.0% - Available on draft at the brewery taproom and the Garage Grill in Draper
