New Beer Friday 12/20/24

It's the last New Beer Friday before the holidays and we here at Utah Beer Labs would like to thank you all for hanging out with us every Friday as we share the love for Utah's suds and all of the Beer Nerds that love them. Please enjoy this week's beers at your next gathering and we'll see you bright and fresh in 2025. As alway, Cheers.

Wait! before you go, Second Summit is back with us in the radio pub today (Friday) at 2pm. So much new stuff to get you out of your comfort zone and into the celebrating spirit. Steph and I get back to at 2pm on 99.9fm KUAA - stream us live or listen later at KUAAFM.org

Bewilder - Sweater Weather: The official name of this could be spelled Sweatta Weatha or any of the plays on the name, so do t crucify me if it’s wrong. Mmmkay? Anyway nice & toasty/roasty with a generous hop profile. They’re calling it a “Mountain Side Porter”. 5.0% - Available at Bewilder.

Bewilder - Weizenbock: Definitely on the dark side of the style. A beautiful mahogany color. Clove & banana nose. Big banana-sweet malt profile. Estery yeast is def driving this wheat bock. Some cocoa notes, clove & sweet caramelized malt round it out. 8.4% - Available at Bewilder.

Proper - Till Death: This is not the previous version from 2023. This is in cans at 7.0%. This Black IPA has a big roasted malt character. A hop bill of classics: Cascade, Chinook & Simcoe pop with hints of citrus & big pine. Available today at Proper.

Kiitos - Schwartbier: Nice and roasty with a light clean body. Notes of cocoa, espresso and lightly-sweet crackers. Drinks like a lager should, no effort, all comfort. 4.7% - Available at Kiitos now.

TF - Jesse DELMARish: Big aroma full of molasses & maple. I don’t know this rum well, but the maple and booze is prominent. It’s like maple, candy cap mushrooms, combined with cocoa & espresso. The booziness lasts throughout, but for this style, it’s wholly appropriate. 12.0% - Available at TF starting today.

Fisher - Merry Fishmas: This double Hazy IPA features Citra and Mosaic with a touch of 1019. Beautiful fluffy head that clings to the glass. Fresh hop aroma and full mouthfeel. Citrus pith and berries with a nice easy bite. Amazing balance. 8.8% - Available at Fisher now.

Here are this week's Small Batch Beers from Hopkins Brewing.

Cheers!
