Uinta Brewing Company's Brighton Revolver IPA

There's a nice trend happening at our local ski destinations this year. Some of the resorts along the Wasatch Front & Back are teaming up with local breweries to produce unique beers - custom designed for the specific resorts. As of right now there are three ski resorts (Alta, Snowbird, Park City) and one ski lodge (Montage Deer Valley) with beers made from the Utah Brewers Cooperative. Now we can add one more destination getting into the beer game, Brighton Ski Resort.

If you happen to make it to the Bayou last Friday, you may have gotten an opportunity to try Brighton's new beer via Firkin. The new beer made by Uinta Brewing is called, Brighton Revolver Session IPA. This new brand is designed to be a rotating Session IPA that will change in hop profile throughout the ski season.

The first release, or “season opener”, was brewed with Mosaic and Cascade Hops which give it a bright,
floral & citrus essence. Full of ripe, fruity notes - I think it occupied my glass most of the night, it's damn tasty. The next rotation in the series is still being formulated, when it makes it way around we'll let you know.

It's available at Brighton Resort and a few tap handles around town, not in bottles or cans. If you see it, tell us where and tell us what you think.

Cheers!

Squatters' Snowbird Dunkelweizen

Last year Alta Ski Resort celebrated their 75th birthday. To help honor their three quarters of a century in the Ski Business the Utah Brewers Cooperative created a new beer for the occasion, Alta 75th Anniversary Ale. The beer will be sticking around even though the anniversary has past.

Now comes word that Squatters has come up with a new beer for Alta's Little Cottonwood Canyon cousin Snowbird Resort. This 4.0% Dunkleweizen doesn't appear to celebrate a milestone at Snowbird as far as I know, it just appears to be a new brand for Squatters and something that Snowbird can sell to tourist and visitors.

This is likely for sale very soon. Hell, it may already be filling mugs at Snowbird's Oktoberfest. Has anyone seen it yet?

I love Dunkles, but what are your thoughts on this new offering?

Prost!

Alta's 75th Anniversary Ale

On January 15, 1939 one of the oldest ski resorts in the United States opened. Alta, best known for the it's low moisture powder and high volumes of annual snowfall has been home to generations of local skiiers and a popular destination for powder buffs world wide.

To help celebrate Alta's diamond Jubilee the Utah Brewers Cooperative has created a brand new beer to honor one of Utah's favorite winter playgrounds. Note: This is the first beer from the UBC that does not have the name Wasatch or Squatters on it.

The Alta 75 is a dry-hopped pale ale, That delivers a piney, floral and citrus nose with a taste that has a moderate malty base with a big citrusy piny punch. It's beer that perfectly pairs with atmosphere that Alta has been cultivating these many, many decades.

Even if your a snowboarder (Alta does not allow snowboarding) you'll find this ale a perfect companion for your "secrect sick days".

Alta 75 has 4.0% ABV and will be available all over the state in grocery and coninence stores and of course at Alta Resort. This is obviously a limited edition beer and should be trickling into stores within the coming days. Should also be available at the Beer Store after 5pm this evening.

Cheers!
