Squatters 529 Oud Bruin Released Today

After a lot of research and a two year commitment Squatters is finally releasing it's Oud Bruin today. 2100 bottles of the 529 will available for sale starting this afternoon.

Squatters will sell the bottles (750ml) for $18.95 out of the downtown Squatters Pub and the Park City Roadhouse Grill.

If you know sour beers, this will make you very happy. If your new too the style, give 'em a chance. They are extremely varied, characterized by a slight vinegar or lactic sourness and spiciness to smooth and sweet. A fruity-estery character is usually apparent with no hop flavor or aroma.

That's two big beer releases so far this week. Shall we go for the hat-trick? Stay tuned for number three in this weeks Utah Beer troika.

Hope to see you at Squatters this afternoon.

Proost!

What is the third?
Man, I wish you could walk out of redrock with reve too...cuz

You can walk out of Red Rock with the Reve, the sell it to go as well as for on site consumption.

Take a friend. Utah law will not allow squatters or red rock to let you leave the establishment with a partially consumed beer. Why you can recork and take a bottle of wine but not a bottle of high alcohol beer with very vinous qualities is dubious, but it's still the law. I, for one, have no problem drinking 750 ml of oud bruin by myself in one sitting.

To clarify. RedRock is allowing sale out the door. This is the first time they've allowed it.

I'm excited about this beer. I brought a bottle of Lo Folie back from New Belgium and really enjoyed it. I imagine this is somewhat similar.

(poor college student) well I may be behind the times, but I finally found a BBB here in Layton. They had three of them. Damn it, wish I would have asked for more student loans so I could have afforded more than just 1!!! Can't wait to try it!!

(poor college student) wow this BBB is wonderful, especially once I let it warm up a bit, the Bourbon really comes out. Just feel blessed to be able to sit here and enjoy its beauty. Thanks UTAH!!

Hey there Utah Beer just a heads up on some new brews I shipped out today from the DABC warehouse. First Mendocino eye of the hawk select ale and IPA. and north coast Le Merle Saison belgian style farmhouse ale. I pretty sure they went to the beerhive and not Bayou. Cheers

Thanks Colbylee for the heads up, Del just confirmed it.
Cheers to you!

Drinking a 529 right now. It's wonderful. I've got tomorrow off work it sounds like a bayou lunch day.

So, I went to Red Rock yesterday and was told that I could NOT buy Reve and take it home...it had to be consumed there. Something is not right with either the info you have or with the manager/bar tender/server that were working that day.

Mikey said...

The server you talked to was wrong. I got the info from RedRock's Brewmaster. Plus others have bought theirs.

Okay, that is great to know. I will go back and raise some hell if I am told that I cannot take it home. I did have some and it was very good...and 529, that is a very unique beer, interesting and very good, better once it warms up.

you might be able to buy some reve at the club store. 1665 south 900 west. mon-friday 830 to 5. I think we might have some for sell, some people in the warehouse have been snatching them up, but i'm pretty sure we still have a case or two.
