Need a break from life's critiques? This week's New Beer Friday artistic brews and break dancing event will score a perfect 10, regardless of technique.
Today on Beer Nerd Radio Steph and I welcome Allen Handy and Annika DiMeo as we give their pallets the ultimate beer work-out! What beer style will it be? You and our guests will know at 2pm today (Friday) on 99.9fm KUAA.
Fisher - Wet Your Willet: Huge aroma of juniper & sage. Whoa, delivers on the pallet too. Big Juniper & sage, but it’s not too overwhelming. The malt bill jives really well with “spices”. One or the other would have been great, the two together are brilliant. Mikey Likey! 5.0% - Available in 16 ounce cans, now at Fisher.
Grid City - Coyote Elvis: This new wheat lager is 50/50 wheat malt and pilsner malt. This lager has a noticeably, pillowy feel. Kinda like a muffin with 85% of the sugars stripped-out. Delicately sweet with little yeast profile. toasty profile are subtle and complimentary. It’s in that realm between German pils & American wheat. I love this damn lager. A triple Mikey Likey! 4.8% - Only at Grid City.
Bolero Snort - Til the Streetlights Come On: This "Retro IPA" has all the new age juiciness you love, with old school clarity. To me "retro" would mean malt and hops recipes from 20 years ago. Meh, what ya gunna do? Missed out on this one. 5.0% Found at The Bayou.
Also new to the market, Drekker Brewing out of Fargo, ND hit the market yesterday with these beers. All found at Slackwater.
Drekker - Strawberry Spread It - Drekker - PB&J sour
Drekker - Pineapple Upside Down Cake - Sour
Drekker - Die to Ride - IPA
Drekker- King of the Thing - DIPA
