New Beer Friday 8/9/24

On target for the weekend our sharpshooter team of... well.... me, scoured the SLC area to find these tasty New Beer Friday lagers and ales to you find you're happy place.

Offset - Superdelic: This new Single Hop Pale Ale features Superdelic and a touch of Zumo hops. Look for lots of melon, some nice NZ diesel/dankness, a red candy like flavor and some bright Citrus from the Zumo.

Grid City - Hazy IPA No. 5: Big citrus with a solid amount of malt. Peach notes with some mango start it off. Hints of strawberry with spicy/grassy hops round it out. Medium bitter finish that lightly lingers.

Hopkins - Equinox LagerThis new lager is the secondary fermentation of Hopkins' Solstice lager. Look for a clean crisp lager with citrus, tropical fruit, and pine hop aromas and flavors. Low bitterness and easy drinking. 5.0% - Only at Hopkins.

Sierra Nevada/Brauerei Gutmann - Oktoberfest (2024): Not hugely malty, but it’s more malty than I anticipated. Caramel for sure, almost Helles like. Great Euro hop profile - nice & herbal. Tasty stuff. 6.0% Found at Slackwater.

Bolero Snort - Shattered Hops (Justice): DIPA with Citra, Galaxy + Waimea.

Citrus & strawberry aroma. Peach & citrus with nice creamy body. Too boozy though. Still would recommend. 8.0% Found at HandleBar

Equilibrium - South St. Pils (Foeder Aged): Smells woody/grainy. Tasty too. Toasty malt with a good grassy/herbal hops. There is some toasty oak in the background as well. I thought it would be very light, but it’s very noticeable. Good hop bitterness in the finish. Mikey Likey. 5.5% Found at HandleBar.

Here are this week's Small Batch Beers for Hopkins Brewing.

Cheers!
