Here is some updated info for the City Weekly Utah Beer Festival.
The 1st annual Utah Beer Festival will take place at Washington Square (the Salt Lake City & County Building) on Saturday, Sept. 11 from 1-6pm.
3 oz samples of over 40 of Utah's award winning brews will be available, including full strength brew varieties. 3oz tasters will be offered.
Ticket are available here or at Smithtix locations. prices are $25 Adv/$35 Day of, for unlimited pours.
The idea here is to provide a huge variety of craft beers for sampling and to get people interested in Utah's craft beers. It's not an excuse to get everyone shitty drunk.
A portion of the event proceeds will be donated to Local First , so come out to this truly local event and taste what Utah 's craft brewers have to offer.
As the event gets closer we'll try tell you, who will be pouring and what.
If your interested in becoming a food vendor, info is here.
Cheers!

Does that price include the beer?
Travis
yes.
Sounds great. Lets just hope there isn't lines like Snowbird had. There is a huge demand for these types of things, I hope they prepare accordingly.
Dang, Dang and double dang. That is the same weekend as the Logan to Jackson bicycle race so we won't be in town. I will catch you next year! Good luck and wish we were going to be in town.
No tokens so that should cut down on the lines once you're in.
A beer-fest in downtown Salt Lake City will be a great time. Any idea if local restaurants will be there as well? With the timing of the event one can ride home safely on traxx as well.
Local restaurants include:
The Pie
Nibbles Donuts
Hoppers
Chow Truck
Casual Cuisine Catering
City Dogs
That's My Dog
Sages
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Local First Utah
Thanks for the info!
Looking forward to it :)
Hey beer guy. I'd like to let people know about this on my blog. coupons4utah.com. Is there a discounted ticket deal anywhere?
the worst event ever. I wasted 35 dollars to get in then waited in line for over an hour for a total of six ounces of beer. what a wast i will never go to one of these again.
My girlfriend and I took a cab to this even. Got inside, and waited in line over 45 minutes. It was clear we where not going to get any beer in a reasonable about of time.
What an insult to call this a beerfest, and what an insult to charge 35 dollars for what would have netted us maybe two beers each. We got a refund thankfully.
Great idea on paper and I applaud the effort, but this event was a trainwreck. I hope things can work out better next year - or at least drop the price 50% and further limit the number of people admitted.
