It looks like Uinta Brewing is making a change to one of their Crooked Line beers. Detour Double IPA is getting a makeover - moving from it pretty corked and caged 750ml bottle to a more managable and user friendly 12oz bottle.
From a profit and consumer standpoint I think this is a win win. I know I will personally be drinking more Detour now that I don't have to commit to 3-4 solo servings. Plus it'll be more affordable in the 12ozer.
Look for different labeling as it will need to conform to Uinta's compass style bottles and theme.
As the sign says, "February 2014" - However the DABC won't stock the new 12 ozers 'til all of the 750s are gone, so drink up! Thanks to Matt Hanson for the info and the photo. The pic above was taken at the Foothill liquor store.
Cheers!

It'll be sold in 4 packs.
Nice. I agree. I will drink waaay more of this now that I don't have to commit to the more expensive larger bottles.
This is great! Let's make this a success. I'd love to see the Labyrinth in 12's too.
Yes Kent, absolutely! I would drink Labyrinth and Cockeyed Cooper in 12s.
I don't anticipate any other Crooked Line beers going into 12ozers. Except maybe Tilted Smile, that would work well as a 12oz. Uinta spent a shload of money on that customized cork and caged bottling line. I don't think they'll diminish those offerings by changing the packaging.
I would like to see some crazy additions to the Crooked Line though!
BRING BACK CAHOOTS!
Matt, Cahoots will be back, but it won't be the RyePA. Cahoots is the name of Uinta's new Collaborative line. Whether it's a Home-Brewer or Pro-Brewer if it's made with cooperation from someone outside of the brewery it will fall under that label. But I agree, that RyePA was brilliant!
That is a shame (regarding the non-return of the RyePA), but I'm hopeful for whatever comes back in its place. Thanks for the clarification!
Ooh, this is good news. It would be dangerous for me if the Tilted Smile came to 12 ounce, though. I love that beer so much. I kind of like the larger bottle because I have to devote myself to just drinking that beer a bit more than I might do with a 12 ouncer, if that makes sense.
Still, I am happy about the Detour - the 4-pack is perfect as well.
Yes, Mikey, there need to be more crazy additions to the Crooked Line. When Epic arrived on the scene, there was a lot of action and fun on the UT beer scene, like in other states where they are always coming out with new beers (e.g. Lips of Faith). Lately, it's been pretty stagnant. You can't expect Epic to do all the work. How many beers do they have in their line now?
5 cases of this (with Citra hops!!!) for sale at the little beer store @ Uinta.
12 oz detour is not on the shelf at Uinta brewpub. Pending dabc approval
