Alta's 75th Anniversary Ale

On January 15, 1939 one of the oldest ski resorts in the United States opened. Alta, best known for the it's low moisture powder and high volumes of annual snowfall has been home to generations of local skiiers and a popular destination for powder buffs world wide.

To help celebrate Alta's diamond Jubilee the Utah Brewers Cooperative has created a brand new beer to honor one of Utah's favorite winter playgrounds. Note: This is the first beer from the UBC that does not have the name Wasatch or Squatters on it.

The Alta 75 is a dry-hopped pale ale, That delivers a piney, floral and citrus nose with a taste that has a moderate malty base with a big citrusy piny punch. It's beer that perfectly pairs with atmosphere that Alta has been cultivating these many, many decades.

Even if your a snowboarder (Alta does not allow snowboarding) you'll find this ale a perfect companion for your "secrect sick days".

Alta 75 has 4.0% ABV and will be available all over the state in grocery and coninence stores and of course at Alta Resort. This is obviously a limited edition beer and should be trickling into stores within the coming days. Should also be available at the Beer Store after 5pm this evening.

Cheers!

i wonder why they didnt want to do a cascade hopped amber ale for this "special" brew

This is a good beer, picked up a sixer from the co op. Definitely a good amber pale. Reminds me of a malty version of full suspension with more color and less hops, it is still hoppy though. Good stuff.

@anonymous its not cascade but i appreciate the sarcasm and feed back. Ill tell you though there does seem to be an anonymous who just wants to hate on everything we do. If you really do want to help us to do the thing that we want most. You should sign your name because we just want to make great beer and i will take all the feedback i can get. I have dedicated my life to Utah beer and really only want to take it to the next level every day, so that we can all make a living and make great beer.

I think this is a kickass beer! I love the aroma, the mild bitterness and the color, WAY TO GO!

I lived in Utah for about 9 years, loved skiing at Alta, loved the beer, what a great marrage. As they say in Utah, "Why just have one?" sisterwives or other...
