These two special editions from Epic are labeled "Beautiful Disaster" Wild Brainless on Peaches and Wild Brainless on Cherries. There will be less then 150 numbered bottles of each for sell from the Salt Lake City brewery. Customers are limited to one bottle of each starting Friday morning at 10am. Price is $19.99. They likely won't last the day.

Brasserie Trois Dames - Espresso Stout
Looks like your typical stout. The nose is earthy with espresso and a hint of pine. The taste starts with creamy milk chocolate. Lemony espresso comes next with some earthy dark fruit and oak rounding out the end. Finishes slightly hoppy with a bit of ash. 7.5% ABV @ Beer Bar

Brasserie Trois Dames - La Fraîcheur

Pours an orange/straw color. The nose is floral with some juicy citrus notes below. The taste starts with doughy wheat and light spices. Juicy tangerine and grapefruit come next. The end is slightly malty and yeasty. Finishes dry and refreshing. 4.60% ABV @ Beer Bar

Brasserie Trois Dames - L'amoureuse
Pours a hazy orange color The nose smells of white grapes and oak with a hint of vinegar. The tastes follows suit with vinous grape-y notes (not wine) with tart vinegar. Sweet malt comes next with a touch of wood and hops. The finish is dry and tart. Nice beer. Not at all what I was expecting - considering I couldn't read a dam thing on the label. 8.0% ABV @ Beer Bar

Brasserie Trois Dames - Grande Dame

Pours a dark red berry color. The nose is of cherry, mango and vinegar. The flavor starts with tart cherry skins and apricot followed by tart vinegar and dank sweet malt. There's a really nice balance between the malty sweetness and the lactic tartness. Quite nice! 7.2% ABV @ Beer Bar

Mikkeller Hues
Pours hazy orange color with a thin fizzy off-white head. The nose is sour, dusty and funky with yeast, lemons and hay. The taste starts sour and funky with dough, lemon juice, grape must and oak. Leather and earthy hay come next with a bit of orange zest rounding out the end.
The finish is sour and slightly fruity. This is all Gueuze. It is a bit thin, but it doesn't take away from the puckering enjoyment. 5.0% ABV @ Beer Bar

Wasatch Black o' Lantern
Pours black with a nose full of pumpkin pie spices (especially nutmeg) that combines nicely with roasted malt and chocolate. The taste starts with pumpkin pie spices and transitions to the base stout's roasted malt and chocolate character. Nice medium bodied, with an ABV of 6.5%. @ Beer Store, Squatters/Wasatch locations

A reminder that the Utah Beer Festival is tomorrow if you haven't got your tickets yet, here's a link for info. Check out City Weekly's Beer Edition as well. Also, Oktoberfest at Snowbird begins this weekend as well, if you can't do the downtown beerfest - Little Cottonwood is always an option.

Prost!
